Stampin' Up! Australia - CAS(E) this Sketch! - Masculine card with Label Love

Dear Stampin' friends,

I recently got the new 'Label Love' stamp and punch bundle from Stampin' Up! It is very cool and the "Happy Birthday" stamp is great for masculine cards.

Also, do you have 1cm strips of cardstock in every colour imaginable laying around your craft desk!??? Well snip them up and use them on a card like this.....

I was inspired by the card sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch this week. Very cool and unfussy - perfect for a card for a guy!

This card was made for my lovely husband for his birthday. He really liked it! YAY!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Hello Lovely with Faux Patina

Dear Stampin' friends,

Well I tried a new technique this week and it went kinda wrong and then it went kinda right! LOL

The new technique is called Faux Patina whereby you sponge ink on an embossed piece of cardstock and distress it a bit, then do some metallic embossing in a random way over the top.

I think this actually comes out a lot better with darker colours but since the colours for Dynamic Duos this week are Crisp Canteloupe and Calypso Coral, I thought I would use those and see what happened. The original outcome looked a bit like '1970's drug den wallpaper"....a little bit yuck.....but I trimmed it down just to cover the bottom third of the card and a little bit looks better than an entire card front. I flipped the remaining 2/3rd and sponged it with Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral & Crisp Canteloupe and splattered some Gold Smooch spritz over it too.

The card looks much much better in real life and it is kinda growing on me even though it is not my usual style.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Father's Day Cards

Dear Stampin' friends,

Here's a few cards that I did for Father's Day using some retired Designer Series Paper. You could make these cards very easily using any sort of 'masculine' themed patterned paper. Each card is 10cm x 20cm  (scored at 10cm). Super easy! I used up all the off-cuts as banner design elements. Just put a few chunky, metal embellishments on each one and you are done! :)

This next card was made using some retired "Greenhouse Gala" DSP.....it has chevrons on it and they are all the rage again so I thought I would use it up! :) Again, just put a metal embellishment on it and you are done! :)

Happy Stampin'!
Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Make A Statement Digital Tour Brisbane - Stampin' Up!

Dear Stampin' friends,

On Saturday, I went along to the "Make A Statement Digital Tour Brisbane", here at the Brisbane Convention Centre. It was a day where the lovely people from Stampin' Up! head office and some technologically gifted demonstrators showed a room full of Stampin' Up! demonstrators and their guests how to use My Digital Studio.

The sky is definitely the limit with My Digital Studio! We were shown how to make a photobook.....that will save me $100's every Christmas for my presents!.....and some party embellishments. It was a really informative and fun afternoon and I now feel very confident now on the My Digital Studio program.

In the foyer, there were some beautiful projects on display and yes.....everything here has been created using the My Digital Studio software....

Advent Calendar by Teneale Williams.....here she has printed out her project images onto iron-on transfer and ironed these images onto the Stampin' Up! muslin bags
for a beautiful and festive calendar!

Baby Shower ensemble made from the 'Hello, Baby' product suite in My Digital Studio

A beautiful family heirloom created by Sue Madex...here she has used My Digital Studio to document her family history. So lovely!

An upcycled suitcase by Sophie Zadeh from Stampin' Up! head office.....uses images created in My Digital Studio printed onto Stampin' Up! coaster board

As well as the My Digital Studio projects, there was this gorgeous tray of Stampin' Up! embellishments and stamped images.

I had a wonderful afternoon with my downline, Leanne....it was her first Stampin' Up! event and I was so happy to share it with her and see her get as much out of the My Digital Studio program as I was.

On Sunday morning, I was eager to try everything I had learned on My Digital Studio and I had a play with the Because I’m The Dad set. I made a couple of Father's Day cards and printed them out on my own printer. SO EASY!

Here you go.....note that I even printed a greeting on the inside of the card! COOL!

If you have any questions regard My Digital Studio, feel free to call me or email me - I'd be happy to chat to you about the program.

Use these links to download My Digital Studio or the
My Digital Studio FREE TRIAL. Give it a go - you will be astounded as to what it can do for you! :)

Happy clicking!

Stampin' Up! Australia - Dynamic Duos #66 - Stampin' Up! Alphabet Press

Dear Stampin' friends,

Here's a card that uses the new Stampin' Up! Alphabet Press embossing folder....it is very VERY COOL! The challenge this week at Dynamic Duos is to use Pool Party and Basic Black and an embossing technique. I decided to do both dry embossing and heat embossing using the Alphabet Press embossing folder.

The process is basically this:
  • brayer Versamark over the side of the embossing folder that has the impression that you want to heat emboss
  • use your embossing buddy to 'de-static' your cardstock
  • put your cardstock into your embossing folder & run it through the Big Shot
  • sprinkle your chosen embossing powder onto your dry-embossed cardstock
  • heat with Heat Tool
Simple!

I found that my embossing powder was a little bit messy and I almost threw away this panel.....but then I looked at it and thought that it looked a bit distressed and 'graffiti' like so I kept it.

The edge is from a 'found object' in my craft area....it is the back binding from a set of instructions that I had laying about....I thought that it looked cool so I trimmed it and used it as an edging feature. You could recreate this with the old SU spiral punch or slot punch.....or just rip apart some bound documents like I did! :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Tag a Bag Gift Box

Dear Stampin' friends,

Look! A 3-D project!!! YAYAYAY!

I made this for a very dear friend of mine and filled it with yummy cookies for her birthday. These new "Tag a Bag Gift Boxes" from Stampin' Up! are great in that they are food-safe and come with their own acetate sleeve - the box and the acetate are all pre-cut and scored so they are REALLY easy to assemble and to decorate.....the sky really is the limit with what you could do.

These would be great for:
  • Christmas gifts or treats
  • Birthday gifts
  • Party favours
  • Baby showers
If you like these and would like to place an order, please visit my my online store and click 'shop' in the top right hand corner.

You can also buy this in a bundle (see photo below) which includes the Tag a Bag accessory kit for $21.95 (code 131372).

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Mixed Bunch

Dear Stampin' friends,

Is this a card that isn't for a challenge blog???  Why yes.....yes, it is!! LOL
This card is based on a template that we SU demonstrators got in one of our bi-monthly magazines, Impressions. It is a great resource and one that always contains fantastic ideas.

I liked this card because it used some of the new In Colors and had that gorgeous layered flower! :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Dynamic Duos #65 - Baby card

Dear Stampin' friends,

It's a week of 'subtle' colours at Dynamic Duos. Subtles aren't really my strong suit, so I used the Stampin' Up! Simply Fabulous Simply Sent card kit to help me.

This kit has the beautiful die cut whisper white base, a Pistachio Pudding envelope and the ribbon + a heap of other embellishments including that cute heart! I added the Blushing Bride DSP and some Pistachio Pudding cardstock as my base.

The stamped image is from a retired stamp called "Baby Steps". I still use it all the time as it is adorable!! I embossed it in white and then lightly sponged around the image (after it dried) with Blushing Bride ink.....just to bring out the image a little bit.

Very easy and quick card. :)

.....oooh....and I made a bow......I MADE A BOW....

***none of my cards have bows as I am hopeless at them**

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Happy Day - Dynamic Duos #64

Dear Stampin' friends,

I was so excited to make this card....I really wanted to do a simple one layer card with this stamp from 'Happy Day' and I knew when we had this colour challenge at Dynamic Duos that it would be perfect for my card! :)

Here you go....

Now...you definitely need a Stamp-a-majig for this card.....the 'frame' is actually one stamp image stamped 4 times in a rectangle. Do you like it? I like the simplicity of this against the colours that are really bold and dramatic. :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #16 - Stampin' Up! Feel Goods

Blushing Bride Card #1
Dear Stampin' friends,

Here's a Blushing Bride combo card for my Stampin’ Up! Color Coach Challenge - the colours here on this card are Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso. I think the colours work really well together.....plus I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit with this sketch.

The sketch is from the Mojo Monday sketch challenge this week.

There's a few retired things on this card...but you could easily use current DSP and a Blushing Bride Candy Dot or Silver Glimmer brad. I have used some retired Textured Cardstock, but Coredinations would look just as good. :)

Happy Stampin'!
Cheers
