Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Flower Shop - Color Coach Card #116

Cherry Cobbler #1

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

I am participating in a fun Pinterest challenge too this week where Stampin' Up! have challenged us to use a selection of punches on our projects. The punches on my card are the Pansy Punch and the Hearts Border Punch.

I used Color Coach colours of Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Calypso Coral. They are all quite strong colours so I used a lot of white here to give it balance. The centre of my flower is a pom pom from the Calypso Coral pom pom trim. :)

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

Card recipe

Stamp - Flower Shop, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink - Cherry Cobbler, A Night of Navy
Cardstock- Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Birthday Bash DSP
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Pansy Punch, 1/2 inch circle punch
Accessories - Calypso Coral Pom-Pom trim

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Mother's Day Gift Box

Hi

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Stasia's blog.

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing from the Mother's Day pages of the Occasions catalogue.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

As this blog post goes live, I will be on the Gold Coast at the 2015 Stampin' Up! Convention. I made this little gift box with some goodies in it for my downline who will be attending her first so I thought it would be a lovely little treat for her.

Here's the original inspiration:

I used a Tag A Bag Gift Box and I stamped some Kraft card stock in the petals stamp from Painted Petals and then heat embossed the whole piece in gold. I scored it so that it fit over the box as a lid and then I put the plastic case over the top. The topper piece is a tea lace doily, some gold vellum (the one with the hearts) and a banner gold embossed with the pansy stamp from Flower Shop. The sentiment tag is Chalk Talk stamped in Metallic Gold Encore and then clear embossed to seal it and give it shine. I tied it up with some Wild Wasabi Cotton Twine and Seam Binding ribbon. A metallic clothespin keeps it all together. :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Flower Shop for CASE-ing The Catty

Hi

At CASE-ing the Catty this week, we are exploring the Wedding chapter of the catalogue.

CASE - The acronym stands for COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING. The latest Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue certainly encourages crafters to do just that as it is jam packed with amazing, inspirational projects.

The idea is to feature a section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue each week using the projects in the catty as inspiration.

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.

Here's a Badge to paste to your blog:

Guidelines

  •   Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
  • Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
    • Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country's catalogue where you got your inspiration.
    • SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

    So let's go!

For my card, I was inspired by the wedding card on page 67 of the catalogue. I loved the layered flowers from Flower Shop and the cool script background of the Dictionary stamp.

I think it is funny how sometimes the first thing you reach for in your craft stash sets the tone for the whole card. I intended to do this card on a Soft Sky base just like the example in the catalogue, but I saw a square piece of Very Vanilla card stock sitting in my drawer and I grabbed it instead.

I don't have the Dictionary stamp set but I DO have the gorgeous new Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper so I cut this down to size for my background. Before you say anything, yes, I have a thing about newsprint looking a certain way....my thing is this....if newsprint is around the correct way, then the eye is drawn to read the words....which isn't really why it is on a creative project. It is there to give a feel or an aesthetic, so I always turn my newsprint around the other way so you get the idea of newspaper or a vintage book but your eye isn't distracted by sentences about farming etc. :)

I hope you like my card. It is WAY more shabby chic and vintage than I am used to, but I do like the way this card has come out. :)

    Cheers
    Alison xx
