Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Papillon Potpourri - CASE-ing The Catty

Hi

At CASE-ing the Catty this week, we are exploring the Card Giving chapter of the catalogue.

CASE - The acronym stands for COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING. The latest Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue certainly encourages crafters to do just that as it is jam packed with amazing, inspirational projects.

The idea is to feature a section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue each week using the projects in the catty as inspiration.

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.

Here's a Badge to paste to your blog:

Guidelines

  •   Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
  • Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
    • Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country's catalogue where you got your inspiration.
    • SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

    So let's go!

For my card I chose to CASE the card from page 139 of the Annual Catalogue:

I changed the Kraft base to a Whisper White base (of course!!) and kept the idea of a butterfly on a flower over banners. I didn't embellish as much as the original, but what I WAS inspired by was the curvy sentiment. I don't have a curved sentiment so I thought I would make my own.

Yes, you know you can make your own curved sentiments....that's the beauty of photopolymer stamps...they are pliable and bendy on an acrylic block. I got the sentiment BE YOU{TIFUL} from the Flower Patch stamp set and stuck it down so it curved on my acrylic block, stamped it in Versamark, heat embossed with gold, then cut around it in a banner shape. COOL HUH!? :)

Oh, and the Rhinestone is coloured with the lightest shade of the Old Olive Blendabilities set....it matches Pistachio Pudding perfectly!

Hope you give this a go. It is fun!

If you like my card and want to re-create it at home, you can buy all these supplies at my online store.

    Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Gold Wedding Card - I Love Lace - Fusion & CAS(E) This Sketch

    Hi there

Fusion and CAS(E) This Sketch have a fun challenge at the moment because they have COMBINED challenges!! YAY!

When I saw the inspiration image, I immediately thought of a golden shimmery wedding card. There's also a sneak peek stamp from the NEW 2014-2015 Stampin' Up! catalogue! :)

I used quite a few different elements on this card....a tag....stamped in gold and then clear embossed, ribbon, linen thread, an embossed & layered butterfly, vellum, foil, sequins AND smooch spritz!!!

Not very CAS, but it looks so nice in real life, very golden and shimmery. :)

Hope you like my card. :)

Visit my store while you are here!

    Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #40 - Stampin' Up! Papillon Potpourri

    Island Indigo #2

Today's card is brought to you by the Colour Challenge at Less is More this week (to use 3 colours), and my Color Coach! Island Indigo, Pool Party & Calypso Coral are the suggested colours. They look lovely and fresh together I thought so a CAS card was the way to go.

The Colour Challenge at Less is More this week is to use 3 colours together so these are the ones I am using.

PS - can anyone who photographs white cards often tell my why my cards
seem to throw a 'yellow' tinge??? It is driving me crazy!

Anyway, a bit about the card. I used Papillon Potpourri and inked the butterfly in Pool Party. I then got my Island Indigo marker and drew vertical lines on every second linear pattern. I did this six times and punched out my butterflies.

I also punched the same shape three times from some vellum card stock. I layered the butterflies to make them a bit 3D. The vellum layer is in the middle of the Pool Party/Island Indigo layers.

I stamped the antennae onto the card in Calypso Coral and stamped the sentiment. My butterflies were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I really like how this card came together....the butterflies were a bit of an accident...I was trying to draw a chequered pattern with the two tones and my marker slipped to make a vertical line....I stamped it to see how it would look and it looked COOL! :)

I love those happy accidents. :)

    Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Papillon Potpourri - Butterfly Card

    Hi

A friend at work asked me to make them a card based on this one by Claudia from Ink Paper Love. Claudia's card is really cool....it had different coloured butterflies flying out of a jar and she had created some cool swirly stitching on her card too. My friend at work wanted blue tones to the card so I set about trying to recreate the look and feel of Claudia's original (without having to use any sewing since I'm terrible at that!! :) ).

Claudia was kind enough to give her blessing for me to publish this CASE'd card to share with you. :)

I used the Hearts a Flutter framelits to make my "jar" out of acetate (window sheet). I used a corner rounder punch to round the corners of the shape and snipped off the end part to make the top of the jar.

I then just used a Basic Black Marker to draw on my jar.

The colours of the butterflies are Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Midnight Muse and Baja Breeze.

My work colleague loved the card! YAY!

    Cheers
