Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Flower Shop - Color Coach Card #116

Cherry Cobbler #1

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

I am participating in a fun Pinterest challenge too this week where Stampin' Up! have challenged us to use a selection of punches on our projects. The punches on my card are the Pansy Punch and the Hearts Border Punch.

I used Color Coach colours of Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy and Calypso Coral. They are all quite strong colours so I used a lot of white here to give it balance. The centre of my flower is a pom pom from the Calypso Coral pom pom trim. :)

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

Card recipe

Stamp - Flower Shop, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink - Cherry Cobbler, A Night of Navy
Cardstock- Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy, Birthday Bash DSP
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Dimensionals, Big Shot, Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Pansy Punch, 1/2 inch circle punch
Accessories - Calypso Coral Pom-Pom trim

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Yoda Birthday card

Hi

I made this card for the son of a friend of mine - he is a big Star Wars fan and flipped out when he opened this card.

I can not take ANY credit for the design of this card - it is a complete CASE of Sarah-Jane Rae, a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the UK who was kind enough to give permission for me to share this card.

Visit her blog post here - she is so generous and gives a step-by-step tutorial on how to make this very special Star Wars card + a recipe for supplies.....use the Force!....you should make one too!

May the Force be with you!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #55 - Stampin' Up! I Like You

Raspberry Ripple #2

Hi

It took about 3 different cards to realise this colour combination of Raspberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive! Seriously man! Pink & green shouldn't be this hard! LOL

Anyway, CASE Study came to my rescue....when I saw Pamela's wonderful card, I knew exactly what I wanted to try. I'm also submitting this for consideration as a Guest Designer at CASE Study.....love that challenge!

This is a new stamp set called "I Like You" - it contains some beautiful folk-art inspired line art flower stamps....which are perfect for colouring with the new SU Blendabilities and I have seen a few cards on the internet that use it in this way....I wanted to use it in a different way though....and use the traditional blender pen way of colouring.

I stamped the flowers in Raspberry Ripple using a post-it note as a mask to leave a centre panel for my sentiment. I used my blender pens to pick up Pink Pirouette and Raspberry Ripple to colour in the petals. Old Olive was used for the leaves.

The 'Just Because' sentiment is from A Dozen Thoughts.

Hope you like my card!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #40 - Stampin' Up! Papillon Potpourri

Island Indigo #2

Today's card is brought to you by the Colour Challenge at Less is More this week (to use 3 colours), and my Color Coach! Island Indigo, Pool Party & Calypso Coral are the suggested colours. They look lovely and fresh together I thought so a CAS card was the way to go.

The Colour Challenge at Less is More this week is to use 3 colours together so these are the ones I am using.

PS - can anyone who photographs white cards often tell my why my cards
seem to throw a 'yellow' tinge??? It is driving me crazy!

Anyway, a bit about the card. I used Papillon Potpourri and inked the butterfly in Pool Party. I then got my Island Indigo marker and drew vertical lines on every second linear pattern. I did this six times and punched out my butterflies.

I also punched the same shape three times from some vellum card stock. I layered the butterflies to make them a bit 3D. The vellum layer is in the middle of the Pool Party/Island Indigo layers.

I stamped the antennae onto the card in Calypso Coral and stamped the sentiment. My butterflies were adhered with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I really like how this card came together....the butterflies were a bit of an accident...I was trying to draw a chequered pattern with the two tones and my marker slipped to make a vertical line....I stamped it to see how it would look and it looked COOL! :)

I love those happy accidents. :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #33 - Stampin' Up! Clockworks

Marina Mist Card #1

Hello

Yes. I made a new card! True.

I haven't played with a card challenge in a while and the sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch this week really inspired me. I loved the splatters and the 3D banner idea.

I have been wanting to get Clockworks out again and use it for a masculine card. I guess this is more of a teenage boy card, but it is actually for my brother-in-law who is in his forties....and I think it still works for a bloke.

My Color Coach colours are Marina Mist, Crumb Cake and Cajun Craze which are masculine colours and they channeled a bit of a surf culture vibe which I guess is where the Clockworks stamp set comes in.

Hope you like my card....

If you really like my card and would like to re-create it, feel free...and I invite you to purchase your products from my online store. Just click through the product images below.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #32 - Stampin' Up! Secret Garden

Night of Navy Card #2

Hi again

Ever since I saw the fabulous technique video from Chupa at StampNation showing how to do a stained glass technique on dark card stock, I have been dying to give it a go!!

When the Color Coach threw Night of Navy, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight at me, I thought I would try it using the Stampin' Up! Secret Garden stamp set.

I have some vintage Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils and the green in it looked very olive, but once I put it on paper, it came up quite bright.

I stamped some more images from Secret Garden to layer my main flower on. The dot features on the Daffodil Delight flowers are actually tiny squares of washi tape from the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape set.

My layout is inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.....so CAS & fabulous!! :)

I'm going to give this card to a colleague at work that is going through some stuff right now....she loves getting handmade cards so I know this will make her day!! :)

Hope you like my card!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! A Dozen Thoughts - Color Coach Card #28

Wisteria Wonder Card #1

Hi

I've now come to Wisteria Wonder on my Color Coach Challenge, and today my coach tells me that Wisteria Wonder is a perfect duo to Elegant Eggplant...and they do look fab together!

Both are quite strong and striking colours so I thought I would keep my card nice and simple so as to let both colours speak.....I put a little bit of gold with the card for a touch of elegance.

The sketch is from CAS(E) this Sketch, and I'm submitting it to the STAMPlorations Blog Challenge this month which asks for feathers! :)

My friend and fellow demo, Madonna Dunn, invited me to play and stamp at her place the other evening, and she has one of those e-cutter things so I took some card stock over to make some feathers. We made a few cards together, talked Stampin' Up!, ate biscuits and discovered we both LOVE the movie Pitch Perfect! :)

It is one of the best things about being a demonstrator....the fun times that are had when you get together and create.

You will see a sneak peek embellishment on my card....it is from the upcoming Occasions catalogue. If you would like a new Occasions catalogue, please send me an email and I'll pop one in the post. The catalogue is available from the 28th of January! I am SO excited!!!!!!! :)

Cheers
