Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #70 - Stampin' Up! Wondrous Wreath for StampNation

Lost Lagoon #1

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

I've neglected my Color Coach Challenge a little bit and when Catherine Pooler at StampNation said that she was going to launch a Housewarming Party to celebrate her new blog and brand, my mind immediately jumped to this idea for a card.

As you all know, here in my home of Australia, it is summer during Christmas. I recently had a week off up the Sunshine Coast for a little holiday and noticed many of the shops had beach decor which echoed sandy driftwood pieces and lots of blue tones. Very summer. Very beachy!

So when I saw the Color Coach combo for Lost Lagoon of Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Pear Pizzazz, I thought they would combine well on a Christmas Wreath and Lost Lagoon would make a perfect beachside shack door. :)

Go to my Facebook page for the chance to win a month's subscription to StampNation!

If you would like to participate in the blog challenge, the theme of the challenge is HOME. Head over to Catherine Pooler's blog to link up your project.

Catherine is also offering a 3 day subscription for $1 if you want to see what StampNation is all about. :)

Hope you like my card. You can purchase all the supplies to make this card by clicking through the gallery below.

EDITED: I forgot to add the Whisper White Craft Inkpad to the supplies list below...I used this to swipe over the Lost Lagoon card stock to give it that weathered look. :)

Cheers & Happy Housewarming Catherine!!

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #31 - Sale-A-Bration See Ya Later!!

Night of Navy Card #1

Hi

I had been musing over this colour coach combination for a while...the colours of Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie require careful use of 3 bold colours.

I went to the California Design exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery yesterday and some of the modern (well they were modern in the 1950's!) designs used bold colour so effortlessly. I took heaps of photos which I will probably share here on my blog in another post, as I'm sure other card artists and designers would draw inspiration and find them interesting. :)

I found this fantastic sketch at StampNation and thought it was perfect to showcase 3 retro stripes down the side.

The new Sale-A-Bration set "See Ya Later" sits brilliantly in the Banner Framelit Die for a trendy sentiment panel. Candy Dots complete the 'retro' feel....they are a great way to add interest to a masculine card. :)

Hope you like it! Remember you can get this stamp for free when you order $90 of product! Place your order now! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Best of Flowers Watercolour - Color Coach Card #27

Elegant Eggplant Card #2

Hi

This card was inspired by a technique tutorial and card that the incredibly talented Iwona Palamountain (aka Chupa) shared at StampNation.

For my card, my colour palette was taken from my Color Coach for my Color Coach Card Challenge. The colours are Elegant Eggplant, Always Artichoke and Sahara Sand.

The tag is actually a Labels Collection Framelit with the sides cropped and a hole made using the Chalk Talk Framelit aperture piece. The flower stamp from Best of Flowers was stamped in Versamark onto Naturals White and embossed in white. The ink was then applied and splattered with an aqua painter.

My 'love' sentiment was cut using the Expressions Thinlit Die from Elegant Eggplant card stock.

I really like the way this turned out. Chupa said that the technique is a lot of fun and produces some interesting and pleasing effects from the splattering and she is absolutely right! :)

If you like this card, then you can buy all the supplies to make it from my online store. Please support my business and have a browse. :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Best of Birthdays - Christmas Card

Hi

Catherine Pooler shared one of her very 'clean & simple' cards over at StampNation - it was way cool so I thought I would have a go at the same layout and idea.

The only 'present' stamp that I have is the one from 'Best of Birthdays' so I did some semi-random stamping on a piece of Whisper White.....I think I need to work on my 'random stamping'...there are too many weird gaps....I'm sure there's a video tutorial somewhere with some tips.

Anyway....here are the cards...

I like the placement of the presents on the card above...but I'm not too sure about the colour choices....I probably should have omitted the snowflakes too.

I like the colour choices on my card above, but there was a gaping white hole on the main panel which I tried to 'fix' with a red candy dot....not sure that I should have done that. :(

Oh well, it was good to try something different. :)

By the way....I'm on Facebook so 'like me'!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - You Are My Sunshine Stamp

Hi

Recently on StampNation, there was a challenge called "Outside My Window"....well I live in Brisbane, Australia and at the moment there is crazy amounts of daily thunderstorm activity and last night there was even a tornado in the next town over. Thunderstorms are commonplace in tropical Brisbane, but tornados are not.

This photo wasn't exactly "outside my window" but it was taken by a storm-watcher not far from my place last week....look at that amazing storm cell structure!!!

So I set about trying to create a card inspired by this photo.

The other day, I caught a post from CASE Study and realised that I had never entered one of their challenges.....mainly due to a lack of confidence as their CASE Study muses are always SO talented. This week's challenge was no exception, but I took the FB post as a bit of a "sign", got up the courage, and thought about how this card below 'spoke' to me....well, it was the chevrons of course...but also the partially obscured flower features. It is very modern & cool.

...and so my card was born....the fluffy white clouds against a sunshine-y sky.....with the chevron and  flower references....and a sentiment that promises love despite whatever struggles may appear before us. :)

Hope you all like it! Please comment if you do. :)

Stamp - Sunshine (single clear stamp), Positively Chevrons

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Delightful Dozen

Hi

I created this card for a couple of challenges..... CASology and CAS(E) this Sketch. There was also a challenge on StampNation to use gradient colours so I had a go at that.

I hope you like my card...I used the gradient technique on both my card stock and my sentiment - using the ink pads to slide on the ink rather than stamp directly onto the ink pad with my stamp.

Cheers

Materials used:
Stamp - Delightful Dozen
Ink - Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso
Cardstock - Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso (textured & smooth)
