Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Botanicals For You

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

Here are the essentials:

  • I looked to the Botanical Gardens DSP paper pack for inspiration since all three colours are in that suite. I saw that the Hello Honey & Cajun Craze papers were quite gender neutral so this set the tone for my card.
  • Snip! Snip! Cut up your sentiments to fit your card....I stamped the sentiment but realised that it wasn't going to fit across my card when I needed it, so I cut it up and it worked perfectly! :)
  • Use up your candy dots! Rule of 3....pick a corner. Always looks good. :)

Here are our colours for this week:

Here is the sketch from The Paper Players:

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Schoolhouse DSP

Hi!

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop and welcome from Amanda's  blog.

Here are the essentials:
  • Let the DSP take centre stage. The gray numbers-patterned design from Schoolhouse DSP was perfect for this theme and the sketch
  • Diagonal? The pattern on this sheet of DSP isn’t diagonal, but you can easily change the orientation of any DSP if you like. I used the inspiration from CASE This Sketch and rotated the paper to suit.
  • Need a coloured 3D sentiment...emboss it! If you have a wooden sentiment but you want a white finish on it, just cover it in Versamark and heat emboss it. I used two layers of White Emboss Powder + one layer of Iridescent Ice. White & sparkly!
  • Layer the DSP. By putting a narrow layer of Basic Grey card stock around the Schoolhouse paper, it finishes the card and makes the patterned paper pop.
  • Make your own matching envelope. During the process of cutting a diagonal piece of DSP resulted in a triangular piece of DSP as an off-cut, I thought it would make a great envelope liner so I made my own envelope with the Envelope Punch Board and the Neutrals Envelope Paper

Here is our theme for this week....

Stampin' Up! - Color Coach Challenge #130 - Layered Letters Alphabet

Basic Black #3

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

You are not going to believe this but this is my FINAL Color Coach Challenge card...yes....I have actually blogged my way through the Color Coach and finished!!!

So what better card to celebrate that this YAY card! :)

(except I've just realised that I forgot to add an apostrophe with a white gel pen to the IT'S) Ack! I shall write it in now.

The Color Coach combination is Basic Black and Basic Gray. I was inspired by this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches  I loved that the large Layered Letters Alphabet greeting could take centre stage.

I white heat embossed the Alphabet Rotary Stamp greeting onto Basic Gray card stock and snipped them into banners. I did the very trendy thing of coiled metallic thread and staplers as embellishments.

I also made an envelope with the Envelope Punch Board out of black paper. When it comes time to address it, I will use a chalk pen as it gives a wonderful chalkboard effect on a black envelope.

I hope you like my card. If you have been inspired by it and would like to support my creative business, all the supplies may be found by clicking through the links below which will take you to my store.

The 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue  is out NOW so if you would like to know how to get your free copy, just send me an email. :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #126 - No Bones About It

Crumb Cake #2

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop.

I am still going to finish this Color Coach Journey, even if it kills me....the colours today are Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze and Garden Green. Not my favourites, but when I saw them on the colour coach card, the first thing that I thought of was the jungle! So 'No Bones About It' got to take centre stage today. :) It is one of my favourite new sets from the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue - I'm so glad I bought it!!

Some of the great things about this stamp set, apart from all the dinosaurs and their skeleton over-stamps, are the texture stamps like the vines, leaves and footprints. I used the footprints and vines to add interest to the background pieces and to frame my main image panel. I also put some footprints dashing over my envelope. :)

Here is the sketch for the challenge...

I'm also playing along in the TGIF Challenge this week which is to use a BRAND NEW stamp set. YAY!

Stampin' Up! Australia - Birthday Card - Delightful Dijon + Cucumber Crush

Hi!

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Stasia's blog.

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing a project from the Project Life section (pages 49 - 54) of the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

I don't really DO Project Life....I do think it is the perfect way to scrapbook though, but I admit rather shamefully that I take more photos of my cards than I do of my children....don't judge me! :)

Here's my card...

I CASEd a PL element from page 54 of the catalogue...I liked how there was some ombre sponging happening with black text.

I used Cucumber Crush and Delightful Dijon ink to sponge colour onto my card. The greeting is from the hostess set, Happy Birthday Everyone (which I can't stop using at the moment...such beautiful font!).

Here's my inspiration:

..and since this is a birthday card, I'm linking to Seize the Birthday for their Anything Goes Challenge. :)
