Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Expressions Natural Elements

Hi!

I was messing around with some scraps from my stash and saw this discarded piece of emboss resist paper that I had been practising on when I made this card.

I saw the challenge over at Retro Rubber Challenge which is to use twine on your card so I threw some bakers twine on it and added some more scrap pieces to make this lovely wedding card.

I stamped one of the medallions from Daydream Medallions and white embossed the image then I sponged some Coastal Cabana ink over the top. :) The only new thing on this card is that fun wooden sentiment from the Expressions Natural Elements kit.

To play along with Retro Rubber, the stamps have to be at least one year old so I had to look up Daydream Medallions as I thought it was a year old, but it came out in 2012!! Time flies!

I Love Lace came out in June 2014 but has since retired.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #105 - Stampin' Up! I Love Lace

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Rebecca Scurr's blog.

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing from the Wedding pages of the Occasions catalogue.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything. This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create. Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

Here's my card..

I was inspired by the the embossed vellum layer on the card in the catalogue and used Color Coach Colors of Calypso Coral, Pink Pirouette and Blushing Bride. These colours are actually quite difficult to use together since Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride have red tones and Pink Pirouette has a blue tone.

Small touches seemed to be the key and I layered my Pink Pirouette card stock behind the vellum layer which seemed to diffuse the colour a bit.

I heat embossed the vellum with I Love Lace and used the Jute Ribbon and the Blushing Bride flower trim from the Artisan Embellishment Kit to layer over the top. The Chalk Talk stamp was stamped with Calypso Coral and then the centre sentiment was stamped with Blushing Bride and sponged around the edge. I added a peep of Tea Lace Doily to echo the filter paper in the original card.

I finished off with some Pearls that I coloured with the medium shade of the Pink Pirouette Blendabilities markers.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! I Love Lace Wedding Card

I made this card by experimenting with a heat embossed image and then pressing it into coloured ink and water. The heat embossed image resists the ink thus retaining its pattern, and the coloured inks merge and blend into fun patterns in the background.

I used Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana & Crisp Cantaloupe since they blend so well together.

I cut them into strips and mounted them on black card stock for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week. I thought it looked so pretty that it should be a wedding card....so I put a wedding sentiment on it from Label Love and scattered it with sequins (sneak peek from the Holiday Catalogue!) :)

Note - I used the 12x12 (30cm x30cm) Whisper White Cardstock to get this square card (which measures 12 x 24cm when flat)....it is more cost effective when doing square cards as you get two out of one piece. :)
