Stampin' Up! - Under The Big Top - Autumn/Winter Mini Sneak Peak!!

Hi everyone

Today's card is a very simple birthday card using Stampin' Up!'s Under the Big Top stamp set. I received this set for free at the Stampin' Up! Brisbane Regional Training (yet another reason to join Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator - for all the perks!!) and I really love this little ballerina mouse....too cute!

This card is for my friend's little girl who is turning 1 this week. I also made a duplicate card for another friend's baby shower and just changed the sentiment to 'For Your Shower'. Both 'Happy Birthday' and 'For Your Shower' are in the "Teeny Tiny Sentiments" stamp set.....an absolute staple set if you ask me....24 stamps in a set....every possible sentiment is in it!

...and can you see a certain new product on this card?? I can't give anything away but what I can tell you is that the Stampin' Up! Autumn/Winter mini catalogue is released on 1st April and there are TONNES of amazing new products coming out....best...mini....ever!! I'm serious! If you would like to book a workshop or a card class so that I can show you all the new things, just let me know. :)

Happy Stampin'!
Cheers
Alison xx

Festive Friday #11 - Easter!!

Hi Everyone

I'm SO HAPPY to share with you that I am one of the newest members of the Design Team for Nicole Derendorf’s Festive Fridays!! I'm so VERY excited to be part of her wonderfully talented team and to be able to share some "Festive" creations with you. Make sure you check in there every Friday to get the details of the challenge and to take a look at the lovely things on offer from the Design Team. I really hope you will play along with us!! :)

This week's challenge is EASTER!.....so of course, I'm going to do something involving chocolate. ;)

Every year, I make a little Easter present for my friends' kids and this year my own little boy will be old enough to enjoy some chocolate eggs so I'm going to make an extra special one for him too. This year, I thought I'd do up a little basket for them. These are so easy to do and they only need 3 Scallop Envelopes cut from the Stampin' Up! Scallop Envelope Die (pg 159 in the catalogue #113462). I cut them from Chocolate Chip cardstock then put them through the Square Lattice Embossing Folder and it gave it a lovely 'basket weave' look.

The decoration is some 'eggs' from the 2" Oval Punch, some Boho Blossom Punch flowers and ribbon. I also put a few flowers across the handle as an added effect. (Not sure why this next photo looks so 'blue'????)

....and yes, some eggs were damaged in the execution of this photo-shoot. :O

If you want more info regarding how to make the basket, just email me and I'll be happy to share. :)

Materials used:
Ink - Crumb Cake (for sponging around the "eggs")
Cardstock - Chocolate Chip, Everyday Enchantment DSP, Pear Pizzazz DSP, Lucky Limeade, So Saffron.
Accessories - Calypso Coral ribbon, Pearls
Tools - Scallop Envelope Die, Scallop Border Punch, Paper Cutter, 2" Oval Punch, Boho Blossom Punch, Itty Bitty Punches, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Big Shot, Sticky Strip, Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Birthday Bakery Watercolouring

Dear Everyone

I was inspired to do some watercolouring for some Birthday cards that I was making for some fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators. I know "Birthday Bakery" is a retired set but it is so much fun to play with.

I got inspiration for the layout of the card from the
Utah Divas International Sketch Challenge #179 and the colours from Colour Q Challenge #127 . The colours are Certainly Celery, Calyspso Coral, Blushing Bride & Chocolate Chip. When I read those colours on the challenge blog....I immediately saw cake! :)

I enjoyed making the first card so much, I made a few of them, and then I made a variation on it and did a card for a colleague at work who wanted a card for her sister-in-law. She mentioned 'purples'....so I did Birthday Bakery in Wisteria Wonder, Perfect Plum, Concord Crush, Bravo Burgundy and Crumb Cake! I coloured the glimmer paper in Wisteria Wonder just to tie it all in.
Hope you enjoy the cards....watercolouring really is AWESOME! If you would like to order any of the supplies I used to make these cards, just give me a call or email me. Remember there are still a couple of weeks left of Sale-A-Bration so if your order is $100 or more, you will earn free stamps! :)

Sprinkled Expressions on a Clean & Simple challenge

Dear Everyone

I love a good 'Clean & Simple' card and I saw sketch #180 on the
Clean & Simple Challenge blog and just had to give it a go.

I broke out the Sale-A-Bration Sprinkled Expressions set and my 2011-2012 In Colors and had a play. I also used a strip of the Sale-A-Bration Everyday Enchantment Designer Series Paper across the bottom of the card. I also have to ask myself why I haven't been using more Island Indigo....it really is a stunning colour!

While it may not have as much clean white space as I had hoped, I'm pretty happy with the way this card turned out....the combo of Lucky Limeade, Pool Party & Island Indigo is quite pleasing, and the effect of stamping onto textured cardstock gives quite a 'commercial & modern' feel.

Materials used:
Stamps - Sprinkled Expressions (Sale-A-Bration), Friendly Phrases
Ink - Island Indigo, Pool Party, Lucky Limeade
Cardstock - Very Vanilla (smooth & textured), Island Indigo, Everyday Enchantment DSP
Accessories - Island Indigo ruffled ribbon
Tools - Paper cutter, SNAIL, Scallop Oval Punch, Large Oval Punch, Sticky Strip.

Outlined Occasions for the Festive Friday Challenge!

Dear Everyone

I've been wanting to play along with
Nicole Derendorf’s Festive Friday Challenge for AAAGES! I actually did the Valentine's Day challenge, but I was too late to upload it. However this one....I'm on time! :)

I also saw
this challenge from Utah Divas International and liked the centre banner and thought that I could make that quite "Christmassy" and festive. I was inspired by Madonna Dunn’s card and her use of the Snow Swirled stamp set - I liked how she used it in her background and underneath her sentiment...which led to this card.....

I used the smallest snowflake from the Snow Swirled set and stamped off in Cherry Cobbler so the impression wasn't too dark. The sentiment is from the Sale-A-Bration set Outlined Occasions and I filled in the sentiment using Cherry Cobbler and my blender pen. To add to the already fairly 'blingy' card, I sprinkled some Dazzling Diamonds over the snowflakes and the sentiment panel. :)

Remember there's not long to go before "Sale-A-Bration" is over so you don't have long to get your free stamp sets. Outlined Occasions is very versatile and you only need to spend $100 with me to get this set for FREE! :)

Materials used:
Stamps - Snow Swirled, Outlined Occasions (Sale-A-Bration)
Ink - Cherry Cobbler, Stazon
Cardstock - Very Vanilla(smooth & textured), Jolly Holiday DSP (retired), Red Glimmer Paper, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories - Dazzling Diamonds
Tools - Blender Pen, 2-Way Glue Pen, Paper cutter, SNAIL, Paper Snips

Triple Treat Flower & Spice Cake DSP

Dear Everyone

Long time - no blog! I've been a little busy with my little ones and I haven't had much time to devote to craft recently.
However - I do have some cards to blog for you! :).....AND I bought a light box for my card photography so hopefully they will be a little better lit and more consistent in quality.
This card uses the Stampin' Up! set Triple Treat Flower and the Spice Cake Designer Series Paper. I LOVE THIS SET & PAPER - so gorgeous! Reminds me of bohemian 1970s wallpaper. :)

I also coloured the silver glimmer paper using a sponge dauber and Pool Party ink from the inkpad. I like the little feature of it peeping through the darker Spice Cake colours. :)

Materials used:
Stamp - Triple Treat Flower
Ink - Pear Pizzazz inkpad & marker, Pumpkin Pie marker, Pool Party inkpad & marker, Soft Suede inkpad
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Basic Black, River Rock (textured), Spice Cake DSP, Silver Glimmer Paper
Accessories - Everyday Enchantment Brad (from Sale-A-Bration catalogue)
Tools - Fancy Flower Punch, 5-Petal Punch, 1/2 inch circle Punch, Paper Cutter, Mat Pack, SNAIL.
