Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #96 - Cheerful Critters - One Layer Card

Pumpkin Pie #1

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

Less is More are having a One Layer Card challenge this week with the added theme of 'Animals'.

My Color Coach colours today are Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso. I wanted to use Cheerful Critters on my card as it is such a cute stamp set, so the fact that Daffodil Delight is featured in my colour options, the little chick was the obvious choice. I used Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities and an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to give him a plaid shirt.

My original idea was to just have the chick on the bottom right hand side of the card and nothing else, but I was looking at my masks/stencils and thought maybe I could mask the bird and have stars appearing behind it, but as I was moving my stencil around on the page, I had it at an angle and one of those fun creative light bulb moments happened. :)

Less is More theme:

Edited 18/03/15.... I am also linking this card to the AAA Card Challenge as they are having a Bare Naked CAS challenge. :)

I also used the Envelope Liner Framelit Die to cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper to line the envelope to match the card.

I hope you like my card. If you have been inspired by it and would like to support my creative business, all the supplies may be found by clicking through the links below which will take you to my store.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Get Your Santa On Tag Re-invented!! :)

Hi

So I took yesterday's tag and I decided to make a card with it after all. I took some inspiration from the Merry Monday Bingo Challenge this week and chose Patterned Paper, Ribbon/Twine/, and a Punch for my card. See the grid below for the challenge details. :)

I trimmed it down and layered it onto some retired festive Cherry Cobbler DSP....removed the twine and tied it across the top of the card, added a punched champagne glimmer star and boom....a tag was re-conceived as a Christmas card!

Do you like it?

I think the image and the stars work better like this rather than on the tag. :)

Thank you for visiting. :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Get Your Santa On - CASEing The Catty

Hi

At CASE-ing the Catty this week, we are exploring the various fun gift tags of the new Holiday Catalogue.

CASE - The acronym stands for COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING. The latest Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue certainly encourages crafters to do just that as it is jam packed with amazing, inspirational projects.

The idea is to feature a section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue each week using the projects in the catty as inspiration.

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.

Here's a Badge to paste to your blog:

Guidelines

  •   Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
  • Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
    • Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country's catalogue where you got your inspiration.
    • Only Stampin' Up! products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.
    So let's go!

My tag was based on this one from the Holiday Catalogue (on page 10)...but it sorta grew a life of its own so you probably can't really tell that it was the source inspiration. :)

    Here's my tag:

I coloured the Santa from Get Your Santa On with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities and the Smoky Slate Blendabilities. For my tag base I used some Kraft card stock and did some 'ghost masking' on it with the stars stencil from the Hearts & Stars stencil. By 'ghost masking' I mean that I masked with Craft Whisper White ink first and then I moved my stencil over slightly and masked with Cherry Cobbler. What this does is leave a small off-set border of Whisper White which makes the stars look a little bit 3-D.
Unfortunately, doing this did make my stars look a little bit 'pink' but that's ok. :)
I cut my Very Vanilla Santa piece into a banner and then adhered it to my Kraft base with SNAIL, I added some retired Christmas Cherry Cobbler washi tape, which again wasn't really meant to be there, but when I was trying it out for size it ripped the card stock so I had to leave it! I don't know if it works or not.
I punched a hole and added some Gold Twine.
It ended up being a pretty big tag so it would suit a fairly big present or maybe a food hamper. :)

Hope you like it and will play along with us this week at CASEing the Catty!

If you like this tag and would like to purchase the supplies, please do so by clicking the images below. :)

    Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #72 - Stampin' Up! Good Greetings

    Lost Lagoon #3

    #ColorCoachJourney

    Hi

This card idea came to me after I had cut out a large star from some Silver Foil card stock (I was making a wand....as you do)...and I thought I should keep the negative and use it as a stencil for a Christmas Card.

I sponged Lost Lagoon around the inside edges of the star and Soft Sky in the middle. I used some washi tape to fix the stencil to my card base so that it didn't move.

I stamped some repeated festive sentiments from the Good Greeting stamp set (which you can get for FREE with any order of $300 or more!) in Lost Lagoon while the stencil was still in place.

I coloured some Rhinestones with the lightest Night of Navy Blendabilities marker to make it look like Lost Lagoon, and dotted these over my star. :)

I hope you like my one layer Christmas Card! I hope you will purchase all your Christmas card making supplies from me. You can click through the supplies below to be taken to my online store. :)

NOTE - I have included the Silver Foil below only because I found it to be excellent to sponge over as the sponge moves nice and smoothly across the foil...and when you stamp over the foil, you can just remove the ink with a baby wipe or Stampin' Mist so in essence you have a re-usable stencil. YAY!
