Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Floral Wings and Bold Butterfly Framelits

Hi!

When I saw the sketch at CASE This Sketch, the inspiration image at The Card Concept and the theme at Addicted to CAS, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.....such a simple, clean & graphic card, but one that I am really pleased with. :)

I used the colours from The Card Concept's inspiration image as my base squares and then took a very literal interpretation of the CTS sketch.

The 1 inch squares are Daffodil Delight, Cucumber Crush, Bermuda Bay and Watermelon Wonder. I gave them that retro shape by curving opposing corners with the Envelope Punch Board corner punch.

The butterfly was die cut with the smallest framelit from the new Bold Butterfly Framelit Dies. The sentiment was stamped in Cucumber Crush and is from the Floral Wings set.

I hope you like my card. If you have been inspired by it and would like to support my creative business, all the supplies may be found by clicking through the links below which will take you to my store.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Blendabilities

Hi there

As Jan Tink would say, I have committed rubbah-dultery this week. I know.....fifty lashes and all that...

Anyway, when I saw this stamp, I just had to have it....if only for the colouring potential! :)

I have coloured each of the continents in a different Blendabilities colour. Lots of fun - except when I dropped my Pumpkin Pie marker just above Siberia and it required a sequin! :)

The colours I used were Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Wild Wasabi and Pumpkin Pie.

This card is for the daughter of a friend of mine who recently returned from a charity bike ride in Thailand called "Hands Across the Water" - she was the youngest person ever to complete the ride - 800km in 8 day. I am so proud of her. It is an unbelievable achievement for anyone...let alone a 13 year old girl. She is truly amazing...and the world is brighter because of her. :)

I was also inspired by the challenge at Addicted to CAS this week where the theme word is "WORLD". How appropriate! :)

The 2015 Occasions Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration catalogue are OUT NOW so if you would like to go on my mailing list and receive your free copy, just send me an email. :)

Alternatively, you may download the catalogues here (Occasions) and here (Sale-A-Bration)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #61 - Stampin' Up! Work of Art

Coastal Cabana #1

Hi

Addicted to CAS have a cool theme word at the moment - Sky!

I was messing around on some scrap paper with these color coach suggestions of Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie and thought that they looked like a tropical sunset over the sea.

I decided to use the stamps from the "Work of Art" stamp set like the paint brushes they resemble and painted this landscape using stamps only......pretty cool huh! I used a lot of partial stamp inking and stamping off....SO FUN!

I was SO happy with the result.

I haven't put a sentiment on the card as I like the landscape the way it is and thought a sentiment would clutter the card too much.

I think it would make a lovely sympathy card or even a thank you card.

Hope you like my card! Can you believe this was done with just one stamp set! Work of Art is so versatile I tell ya! :)

Please contact me for a new Stampin' Up! catalogue if you don't already have one. I will send you one for FREE!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #50 - Summer Starfruit Heart card

Summer Starfruit #2
Hi

At Addicted to CAS this week, the challenge theme is 'texture'. I have had this glittery heart sitting in my stash for ages and I just haven't brought myself to use it or throw it away. It is a little bit 3-D....it feels almost quilted so you just want to touch it.

At Fusion this week, they have a cool sketch plus an inspiration photo that features red polka dots which I thought I would use. I flipped the sketch on this card as the panel looked better (after much playing around) going vertical rather than horizontal.

My Color Coach Journey dictates that I use Summer Starfruit with Real Red & Marina Mist ....totally weird colours....but I think the presence of the heart & the polka dots really helps with the balance.

No sentiment on this one, but I really don't think it needs one. :)

Hope you like it!

Don't forget that Summer Starfruit card stock, Real Red Polka Dot Parade DSP and the Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon are all on the retired list and won't be available after 30 June (or earlier if they sell out)....don't delay your order. Visit my online store today.

Cheers
Alison xx

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #42 - GRUNGE!

Pool Party #1

Hi

I've skipped a Soft Sky card on my Color Coach challenge, but don't worry, I will come back to it.

I just had an idea in my head for a card and this Pool Party combination was the perfect fit.

For my other two Soft Sky cards, visit here and here (one of my most pinned cards ever...and one of my personal favourites).

For my other Pool Party card, visit here.

I was surfing the other day for more sketch/inspiration challenges and re-acquainted myself with Addicted to CAS . Their code word this week is GRUNGE!

Here's my card....

It's a card that is WAY out of my usual style, but I had the idea so I ran with it...

There are 3 references to 'grunge' on this card....can you see them?

Scroll down for the answers...

Have you guessed yet?.....

Scroll a bit more....

1. Plaid background....a reference to the flannel shirt popular at the time of the grunge period. I brayered my own background using Pool Party, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip.

2. Lyrics from 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'...the anthem of grunge.....printed with my motex label maker.

3. The date stamp on the right hand side.....5th April...a reference to the date that Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana died in 1994.......and some would say the day that grunge culture began its twilight days.

I hope you like my card.....it isn't CAS in the sense that there is lots of white space...but the background is one pattern and the embellishments modern. I'm pretty happy with it. :)

Cheers
Alison
