Stampin' Up! Color Coach - Card #6 - Dynamic Duos of Smoky Slate + Basic Grey

Smoky Slate Card #3

Dear Stampin' friends

This card is both a Dynamic Duos creation and the sixth card for my self-imposed Color Coach Challenge!! This combines two shades of grey....Smoky slate and Basic Grey....

When I sat down stood up (I craft standing!) to make this card, I grabbed my Basic Grey scraps and found that I had kept a 'negative' from when I made some grey leaves from the Little Leaves sizzlit. I put it against some Smoky Slate cardstock and it WORKED!!! Add some images from the Happy Day stamp set and some pearls and a card was born!!! :)Please visit the rest of the team from the Dynamic Duos Challenge blog to see what they did with Basic Grey....

Don't forget that you can order any of these items at my online store or by sending me an email or calling 0413 405 139.

Materials used:
Stamps - Happy Day
Ink - Basic Grey
Cardstock - Basic Grey, Smoky Slate, Very Vanilla

Dynamic Duos #58 - Stampin' Up! Love & Sympathy

Dear Stampin' friends

Cajun Craze!!! Are you kidding me? :)

Here's the monochromatic combo on offer from Dynamic Duos this week. Don't be frightened and procrastinate like I did with this challenge.....jump in and play along! :)

I wanted to do a bit of a colour wash with my Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze ink and experimented a bit on Naturals Ivory cardstock. I liked the result and I stamped over it with the flower image from Stampin' Up! Love & Sympathy. The Crumb Cake looked lovely but it didn't stand out so I went over the stems and the underside of the petals with my Crumb Cake marker and it brought out the image a little bit more.

I layered it on some Cajun Craze cardstock & the two colours of DSP. It's not my 'normal' style of sympathy card but it does look nice in real life.

Be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team....

Stampin' Up! Convention - Brisbane 2013 .....sneak peek of new product!

Hi Stampin' friends

At the end of May, I attended the Stampin' Up! Convention here in Brisbane with about 700 demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand. It is an amazing convention and one that I would encourage everyone to attend.....demonstrators and their non-demo guests are welcome!

Here's why I think Stampin' Up! Convention is so cool.....
1. I got to hear Shelli Gardner, the Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! present and create beautiful projects onstage. She is warm & funny.....and so inspirational!!

2. I got to hear other inspirational and creative people from Stampin' Up! head office talk about the exciting things coming our way......and I got a copy of the BRAND NEW CATALOGUE!! Eeeekkkkk

3. I got to watch some talented demonstrators present on stage and share what they love about Stampin' Up!

4. I got to catch up with some beautiful fellow demonstrators who I am blessed to call friends.

5. I got to create some cards using NEW colours and NEW stamp sets during the Make & Take sessions

6. I got heaps of FREE stuff!! (not the most important thing as Stampin' Up! President Rich Jutkins most eloquently explained to us....but free product IS exciting to receive :)

Speaking of free stuff.....here's a sneak peek using two of the many stamp sets I received at Convention. I was inspired by this week's Dynamic Duos combo of Pear Pizzazz and Black. Yay for Pear Pizzazz returning as a core Stampin' Up! colour. :)

For my card, I used the "Bouncing Brayer" technique which was shown to us by Paula Dobson. I used Pear Pizzazz for my brayered background and used a new stamp set for all the background splotches and "tracks". My sentiment is also from a brand new stamp set!! Aren't they both cool!!?

If you would like to know how to make this card, email me - I'd love to demonstrate for you at a workshop!

Don't forget to visit the rest of the Design Team to see their wonderful creations....

Stampin' Up! Color Coach - Card #4 - Subway Art

Smoky Slate Card #1

Dear Stampin' friends

Today on my Stampin’ Up! Color Coach Blog Challenge ,I introduce to you.....SMOKY SLATE
.....and I can fast see this becoming a favourite neutral colour....it is lighter than Basic Grey with almost silvery purple tones. :)

The color coach combo today is Smoky Slate....Soft Sky...and Calypso Coral....a bit weird but it really makes for a modern looking card. I used some clear block stamping technique and did some 'subway art' stamping. It's a very easy 'one-layer' card....give it a try!! :)

Stampin' Up! Color Coach #3

Dear Stampin' friends
Color Coach Card #3

I'm still intent on completing my mission to blog my way through the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach!!

Here's the final card using the Color Coach suggestion for Crushed Curry.....(the RGB code is R-254 G-194 B-64 btw) this has Daffodil Delight as its analogous colour. You can see the difference quite well between the two colours. The second photo is the first version of the card before I added the embellishments and the sentiment. I thought that it needed a few more embellishments + a sentiment......(plus something to cover my careless smudges from the embossing!).I think it would make a nice wedding card actually. :)

You will be able to order this new colour and this gorgeous stamp set from me come 2nd July. If you would like a brand new catalogue for free.....just email me with your address details (Australian addresses only).

Cheers

Dynamic Duos #56 - Baby Card!

Hello stampin' friends!

What have we here for you this week at Dynamic Duos??

........................it's a return of Blushing Bride to the family of Stampin' Up! colours....teamed with the tried & true Soft Suede.

I made my card for a friend who had a little baby girl a short time ago....Blushing Bride is the perfect soft pink for baby girl cards and I had some pewter embellishments that I wanted to use so I modelled my shapes and 'blocking' around those. I used some leftover Very Vanilla Textured cardstock as I wanted a clean but textured finish to the main body of the card.....since there is so much of it! :)

Hope you can join us and celebrate the return of this fabulous colour.....check out what the Design Team have done this week.

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Color Coach #2 - Birthday Card

Dear Stampin' friends

Well I'm up to #2 on my Color Coach blogging journey.....here's my second card using the Color Coach suggestion for Crushed Curry. This card uses Crushed Curry with Pumpkin Pie and Melon Mambo which I think makes a perfect birthday card!

I decided that maybe the Crushed Curry was a little bit TOO represented on the previous card, so I toned it back a little bit and used the sketch from the Mojo Monday Challenge No. 296.

Here's the sketch:

I really wanted to add that third circle but I really couldn't make it 'work'.....I hope it's acceptable.

I've also used another couple of new stamp sets on this card. Aren't they cool!? :)

If you are itching to place an order, you can pop over to my online store - just choose me as your demonstrator, and away you go! :)

Cheers

Hello Stampin' friends!

This week at Dynamic Duos we have a bold & fun colour combo for you.....

Aren't they just lovely!?

For my card I went with a recent sketch from the Mojo Mondays challenge blog....I liked the juxtaposition of circles and verticle lines and the little flags on the right hand side. I had some leftover retired Sweet Shop DSP & brads from Stampin' Up! which gave my Wisteria Wonder elements a fun feel rather than a soft/subtle feel. I decided to use Stampin' Up!'s Topsy Turvy Celebrations for my image & sentiment and I 'iced' the cake with Dazzling Details! :)

Be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team....there's some wonderful creations this week. I hope you will create something fabulous to share with us!

Stampin' Up! Best of 25 Years....Best of Flowers

Hi Stampin' friends!

Q. Why are the posts coming thick & fast at the moment?
A. Because there is SO much going on in Stampin' Up! land.....heaps of new things...

As part of Stampin' Up!'s 25-year anniversary celebration, Stampin' Up! is bringing back some of your favourite stamp images from the 25 years and combining them into five sets, which will release-one set per month-until April 2014. Even better, along with some great classic images, each "Best of" set will also include a never-before-seen image!

This month's "Best of" set is called "Best of Flowers" . The 'never before seen' stamp is that gorgeous daisy in the bottom right hand side. It coordinates with the 1 1/4 inch scallop circle punch. Here's a flyer ..... you're welcome! :)

To order the set, just go to my online store.....the code is 133342 (only available in clearmount)
