Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! You've Got This

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

I got this stamp set for free by participating in a demo-only social media challenge recently. So exciting! I love free stuff....especially free stamps. :)

Perfect Plum is a fairly bold colour, but when it is watercoloured the saturation is so much easier to control so the flower came out quite soft and subtle which I liked.

Here are our colours....

I used the Mojo Monday sketch to help me too. :)

Card recipe

Stamp - You've Got This, A Dozen Thoughts
Ink - Perfect Plum, Mint Macaron, Sahara Sand
Cardstock- Very Vanilla, Watercolor Paper, Perfect Plum, Mint Macaron
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Multipurpose Liquid Glue,

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #117 - Butterfly Basics Sympathy card

Chocolate Chip #3

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

I thought I would make a card for CASOLOGY this week using some Color Coach colors - Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango and Always Artichoke.

The theme word is STORY. The mother of a friend of mine passed away recently and although I had already sent her a card (so this one is not for her), it got me thinking about sympathy cards and the story of someone's life. I think this sentiment is beautiful as the memory of that person still lives on as they those who love them remember their life's story.

I put some Wink of Stella (clear) on the flowers and on a few of the stems just to soften the card a little bit and to reference the radiant sentiment. To echo the story theme, I stamped my sentiment on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and tore the sides and rolled the ends so it looked like a scroll.

The only thing I think I would change about this is I would replace the Chocolate Chip layer with a Very Vanilla layer...after looking at the finished card, I think this would be more pleasing.

I hope you like my card. If you have been inspired by it and would like to support my creative business, all the supplies may be found by clicking through the links below which will take you to my store (some links not active until 2nd June).

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #61 - Stampin' Up! Work of Art

Coastal Cabana #1

Hi

Addicted to CAS have a cool theme word at the moment - Sky!

I was messing around on some scrap paper with these color coach suggestions of Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry and Pumpkin Pie and thought that they looked like a tropical sunset over the sea.

I decided to use the stamps from the "Work of Art" stamp set like the paint brushes they resemble and painted this landscape using stamps only......pretty cool huh! I used a lot of partial stamp inking and stamping off....SO FUN!

I was SO happy with the result.

I haven't put a sentiment on the card as I like the landscape the way it is and thought a sentiment would clutter the card too much.

I think it would make a lovely sympathy card or even a thank you card.

Hope you like my card! Can you believe this was done with just one stamp set! Work of Art is so versatile I tell ya! :)

Please contact me for a new Stampin' Up! catalogue if you don't already have one. I will send you one for FREE!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #37 - Ink Ribbon Technique

Tempting Turquoise #3

Hi

Recently on StampNation, Catherine shared an ink pad to paper technique inspired by May Day ribbons swirling.

So when I saw the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week, I was reminded of swirly ribbons so I thought this would be the perfect card to try it.

Tempting Turquoise is paired with Soft Sky on my Color Coach Journey card today. They blend together really well.

I swiped my ink pads directly onto my whisper white card stock using the corners - this is a fun technique and you never get the same result twice. This was actually my first piece and I liked the design...especially from the Tempting Turquoise swirl.

I liked the arty result so I framed it using my Squares Framelits Dies.

By the time I finished, it had departed somewhat from the original sketch idea, but I guess it is still 'inspired' by and the swirls go from one side of the card to the other so I will submit it anyway.

I thought these colours suited a sympathy card so I just added a simple sentiment from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. No embellishment required.

The card is an odd size 10cm x 12cm - this was to suit my original coloured piece.

Hope you like my card.

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Dynamic Duos #63 - Best of Flowers

Dear Stampin' friends,

Do you think this card is very 'me'?.....I'm not sure that it is clean & simple enough, but I really loved this sketch at Freshly Made Sketches and it seemed to call for a few layers.

At Dynamic Duos this week, we are playing with these colours....

So I did this.....

It gave me the opportunity to use the hydrangea image from  Stampin' Up!'s 'Best of Flowers'...it is so pretty when it is watercoloured. I used my Pear Pizzazz marker to deepen the colour in the middle of the flowers.

Let me know what you think....are layers my thing!?

Be sure to visit the Dynamic Duos Design Team for colour inspiration.....

Stampin' Up! Color Coach - Card #6 - Dynamic Duos of Smoky Slate + Basic Grey

Smoky Slate Card #3

Dear Stampin' friends

This card is both a Dynamic Duos creation and the sixth card for my self-imposed Color Coach Challenge!! This combines two shades of grey....Smoky slate and Basic Grey....

When I sat down stood up (I craft standing!) to make this card, I grabbed my Basic Grey scraps and found that I had kept a 'negative' from when I made some grey leaves from the Little Leaves sizzlit. I put it against some Smoky Slate cardstock and it WORKED!!! Add some images from the Happy Day stamp set and some pearls and a card was born!!! :)Please visit the rest of the team from the Dynamic Duos Challenge blog to see what they did with Basic Grey....

Don't forget that you can order any of these items at my online store or by sending me an email or calling 0413 405 139.

Dynamic Duos #58 - Stampin' Up! Love & Sympathy

Dear Stampin' friends

Cajun Craze!!! Are you kidding me? :)

Here's the monochromatic combo on offer from Dynamic Duos this week. Don't be frightened and procrastinate like I did with this challenge.....jump in and play along! :)

I wanted to do a bit of a colour wash with my Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze ink and experimented a bit on Naturals Ivory cardstock. I liked the result and I stamped over it with the flower image from Stampin' Up! Love & Sympathy. The Crumb Cake looked lovely but it didn't stand out so I went over the stems and the underside of the petals with my Crumb Cake marker and it brought out the image a little bit more.

I layered it on some Cajun Craze cardstock & the two colours of DSP. It's not my 'normal' style of sympathy card but it does look nice in real life.

Be sure to visit the rest of the Design Team....

Cheers

Dynamic Duos #24 - Stampin' Up Love & Sympathy

Hi!

This is my second card as this month's Guest Designer for Dynamic Duos. I just LOVE these colours together.

There has, quite unfortunately, been a run of sympathy card demand recently and I never seem to have them on hand when I need them or if someone at work needs one. The soft, subtle colours of this challenge seemed to channel a sympathy card, plus I had recently acquired Stampin' Up!'s 'Love and Sympathy' stamp set and I was hoping to get the opportunity to ink it up sooner rather than later.

The background DSP on this card is a piece of patterned paper from Spice Cake, which sadly is retired now but the colours on this sheet are Pool Party, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla which was absolutely perfect for this card. When I laid it down onto the base, it looked too 'bright' for a sympathy card, so I did a vellum overlay and it softened it immediately......I will have to remember that trick for next time. I adhered the corners of the vellum with mini glue dots and covered them with the larger pearl from the SU Pearls pack.

Please have a look at the beautiful cards from the Dynamic Duos Design Team below....there will be plenty of inspiration and no excuse not to join in with us this week!! :)

Stampin' Up! Pendant Park - Sympathy Card

Hi

Sadly, I had to make a sympathy card this week and I really didn't know where to start so I went with my weekly tradition of visiting the Dynamic Duos website and had a look at the Less is More challenge blog for inspiration.

My card is a "One Layer" card with some sponging using a Framelit as a template and the Pendant Park stamp set. Nice and simple.

The 'Less is More" challenge asked that participants use 3 of the previous challenges so I used In the Frame (wk 19), Green (wk 44) and Foliage (wk 84).

Materials used:
Stamp Set - Pendant Park, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Sahara Sand
Cardstock - Confetti White
Accessories - Pearls
Tools - Paper Cutter, SNAIL, Paper Piercing Pack - Festive, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Piercing Tool, Labels Collection Framelit, Sponge Dauber, Stamp-a-majig

Inkspiration Sketch Challenge #61

Sadly I had to make a sympathy card this weekend - the second one in two weeks which is not very nice but at least a handmade card can let someone special know how you feel about their loss.

Ink - Soft Suede

Cardstock - Soft Suede, Crumb Cake
Patterned Paper - Basic Grey Lilykate - Bamboo

Embellishments - misc ribbon, misc pearl brad

I liked the colour combinations here so I decided to make another card as a thank you for a friend who invited me for afternoon tea as a pre-baby-arrival catch up with some of our friends. I thought I would take inspiration from Makeesha Byl’s Inkspiration Challenge #61.

Cardstock - Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Blushing Bride, misc blue paper

Ink - Versamark (for edges)
Patterned paper - Basic Grey Lilykate Bamboo

Embellishments - misc flowers
