Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #77 - Little Buddy Birthday

The colours on my card today are the Color Coach suggestion of Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate, and Melon Mambo.

 I had a colouring in session with my sons the other day and while they drew pictures of Star Wars characters, I coloured stamped images of the adorable creatures from Little Buddy Birthday. :)

I coloured one in Melon Mambo and Smoky Slate Blendabilities knowing that I would use it for this colour combination on this card.


The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches.....I love the angles and the opportunity to use up little pieces of rectangular patterned paper. :) I'm also linking to Seize the Birthday for their first challenge of 2015. :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #75 - Stampin' Up! Big Day

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers blog hop....you would have hopped here from Lynn Powell's blog. 

Here's another card inspired by my Color Coach journey....this one is Mossy Meadow, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral. Colours that you wouldn't think would work, but they make a bold, fun, and modern splash against Whisper White.

This week's challenge was a sketch and here's my card below. This was made using just one stamp...."Big Day" from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue. It is fabulous! You will LOVE it!


It actually looks brighter and more colourful in real life...the camera washed out the colours a little bit. 


Here's the sketch that we worked from:


I did tone-on-tone stamping on the background layers using some of the stamp sets in the Big Day set and then I sponged the edges. The main panel was stamped with Memento ink and then the 'celebrate' banner and 'CAKE' were coloured with Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay (sneak peek!) Blendabilities and 'BIRTHDAY' was coloured with a blender pen dipped in Mossy Meadow. 

I'm also linking this card up to the Seize the Birthday challenge....which has an optional theme word of "Party" this week or an 'Anything Goes' theme.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Big Day - Artful Stampers Colour Challenge #13

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop and welcome from Annette Sullivan's blog.

I have a sneak peek again for you this week.....Sale-A-Bration starts on 6th January 2015 and you can earn this stamp set for free!

(starting 6th January!). Great to use with Blendabilities. 


So here's my card.....the colours this week are Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Sahara Sand. I used the sketch from CASE This Sketch this week to get me started, and I used a technique that I'd seen Maureen Merritt use a while back on one of her cards, but I'd recently seen a run of similar cards on Pinterest and it reminded me of how cool it was.....the faux chipboard look...very easy to achieve with die cut sentiments. :)




There's another sneak peek on here...the Itty Bitty Epoxy Accents....SO CUTE! I will be ordering several packs I think....they add a certain fun texture to a clean and simple card.
