Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Picture Perfect + English Garden DSP

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

Here are the essentials:

  • Soft Suede & Mossy Meadow are in the English Garden DSP pack so since they are 2 out of the 3 colours this week, why not use them!?
  • I layered the leaves for a soft effect against the flower from the Picture Perfect stamp set.
  • The Watermelon Wonder ribbon is slightly sheer, so to colour block, I added some Watermelon Wonder card stock underneath it. Looks perfect!

Here are our colours for this week:

Here is the sketch from Mojo Monday:

Card recipe

Stamp - Picture Perfect
Ink - Watermelon Wonder, Mossy Meadow
Cardstock - Whisper White cardstock, English Garden DSP, Soft Suede, Mossy Meadow
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals, SNAIL, 2 3/4 circle punch
Accessories - Metallic Doily, Rhinestone, Watermelon Wonder Ribbon

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)

Cheers

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Kind Koala

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

Here’s my card! Isn’t that koala the cutest thing!!? As well as our colour challenge, I was also inspired by the Less is More challenge celebrating my homeland ‘Down Under’. Koalas are beautiful creatures....I have been fortunate enough to see several in the wild here.....most were asleep but I did see a large male crossing a road once....he was massive!

Here are the essentials:

  • I watercoloured my little koala by stamping Black Stazon onto White Shimmer Paper and applying Crumb Cake in very light layers with an aquapainter. Blushing Bride and a tiny bit of Rose Red were applied to the ears to give shading.
  • I watercoloured the flower in Rose Red - this time adding more saturated colour.
  • I thought it would be fun to mash up the greetings on this card. I like the “thinking of you” sentiment on the Kind Koala stamp, but I often think that this sentiment is better suited to sad situations....by adding “because you’re awesome” from Botanicals For You, the overall greeting on the card becomes whimsical and fun.
  • I added a piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum underneath the image layer. Vellum is great for adding interest to a clean & simple card without adding too much patterning or colour that competes with the eye.
  • An Itty Bitty Epoxy Accent makes the middle of the flower pop!

Here are our colours for this week:

Card recipe

Stamp - Kind Koala
Ink - Crumb Cake, Black Stazon, Rose Red, Blushing Bride
Cardstock - White Shimmer Cardstock, Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals, SNAIL, Aquapainter, Paper Snips
Accessories - Itty Bitty Accent Epoxy Stickers

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)

Cheers

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

So I don’t usually do ‘shabby chic’ but I stepped outside my comfort zone thanks to the Fusion Card Challenge inspiration image. These flowers took forever!!! I experimented for a while with different layers and combinations. :)

Here are the essentials:
  • The background is tone-on-tone stamping with the Hardwood stamp using Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card stock. I sponged around the edges with Crumb Cake ink and even did direct ink pad to paper to get a stronger depth of colour on the corners.
  • The DSP is from the Typeset Specialty Designer Series Paper pack. This paper is thinner than most card stock and is very pliable for 3D features like flowers etc. There’s some lovely patterns - newsprint, diagonal strips, number typography and a gorgeous flourish print.
  • Die Cuts! I trotted out the sadly now forgotten Flower Fair Framelit Dies - yes, they are still current and still fabulous!
  • The sentiment is a lovely wooden element from the Expressions Natural Elements pack. It complements the Hardwood background and neutral tones.
  • It is difficult to see in the image but I went to town with my clear Wink of Stella pen. I painted the wooden sentiment so it is lovely and shimmery. I also ran it around the edge of the Crumb Cake base so there is a gorgeous glint of shimmer under that Hardwood layer. I dabbed it onto the largest flower too onto the black petals and the newsprint.
  • Embellish! Embellish! The centre of my flowers looked a bit bare, so I got a black sequin from the Metallics Sequins Assortment and adhered them to the centres with the Fine Tip Glue Pen. To finish off I added the tiniest Pearl to the middle of the sequins. I wrapped some Linen Thread around the layer three times before tying off.
  • No shabby chic card is complete without the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set. I stamped the ‘splatters’ onto the base after I stamped with Hardwood to give a slightly weathered look. I also used the same stamp inked in Crumb Cake and then Basic Black onto the Very Vanilla layer of the smaller flower (punched with the Pansy Punch).

Here is the sketch for this week:

Here’s the inspiration image from Fusion:

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! French Foliage

Hi!

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Kathryn's blog.

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing a project inspired by the Into the Woods projects from Stampin' Up! Holiday catalogue.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

I don't have anything from this product suite, so I thought I would pull out some vintage autumnal sets and make a Thanksgiving card.

You can see the stamped envelope in this Instagram.

Here's my inspiration image:

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Kind Koala

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

The colour of Tip Top Taupe gave me the idea to pull out the cute Kind Koala stamp set. I used a Blender Pen to add some colour to the koala's ears.

Before you say anything...yes, I know that koalas are grey and not brown! I've seen them in the wild here in Australia - they are pretty big and they also don't hold flowers. ;)

Here are our colours...

Card recipe

Stamp - Kind Koala
Ink - Tip Top Taupe
Cardstock - Whisper White, Whisper White Thick Card stock, Lost Lagoon
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL, Blender Pen
Accessories - Regals Candy Dots, Tip Top Taupe Dotted Lace Trim

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)
