Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Blended Bloom

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept's this week is a beautiful elegant bouquet of flowers on a thanksgiving/fall table setting.

Since we don't celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia, I took my design cues from the cluster of flowers and the colour palette.

I masked off my centre panel and stamped the Blended Blooms stamp in Blushing Bride, Blackberry Bliss and Early Espresso. I then sponged Blushing Bride around the edges and painted over the panel with Wink of Stella Clear which caused the colours to wash and bleed a bit which gave a beautiful marbled effect.

Here is the image:

Card recipe
Stamps - Blended Bloom
Ink - Blushing Bride, Early Espresso, Blackberry Bliss
Cardstock - Very Vanilla
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Sponges
Post-it notes, Wink of Stella (clear)

I hope you like my card.

Stampin' Up Australia - Color Coach Card #127 - Stampin' Up! Blended Bloom

Very Vanilla #1

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

The Color Coach pairs Perfect Plum and Rose Red with the base colour of Very Vanilla....I found the only way I could make this combination work was to use watercolouring and some layering with gold. Rose Red and Perfect Plum are quite strong colours so you will notice that I used muted tones of both on my card.

I stamped Blended Bloom in Perfect Plum rather than Black Stazon to give a softness to the flower image. As I watercoloured with Rose Red, the Perfect Plum ink also moved around a little bit which blended quite beautifully. I used Perfect Plum for the stamen and centre details of the flower.

I used some vintage Perfect Plum DSP for the banner and used Gold Bakers Twine, Metallic Gold Twine and Gold Sequin Trim to add some luxe elements. The sentiment is from the Expressions Natural Elements pack. I LOVE these SO much! I'm buying two packs next order. :)

I finished the card (and to adhere to the sketch) with a punched piece of vellum using the Itty Bitty Butterfly punch. Every butterfly needs pearls. :)

Here's our sketch....

Stampin' Up! Australia - The Artful Stampers Colour Challenge #9

Hi

This week, the team have a colour challenge to share with you so I thought I would go all out with the Melon Mambo and colour Blended Bloom with the Blendabilities.

With my shading I only used the medium and light markers on each petal and I used the dark marker to colour those end curly parts of the petal. The middle was coloured with my Encore Gold ink applied with a sponge dauber.

It is a very CAS card, but because the Melon Mambo flower is so bold, I felt that to add much else would be competing for the eye.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch to help me come up with this card....such a great sketch...you could do anything here!

Here's the list of blog hop participants.....I can't wait to see what our illustrious leader, Alisa Tilsner has come up with this week! She is next on the hop.

Alison Barclay -that's ME!

Stampin' Up! Australia - The Artful Stampers Blog Hop - Colour Challenge #3 - Hacking your Ink with Blendabilities

Hi

Two exciting things today!

One - the brand new Extra Special Christmas Supplement is out today! YAY! Click here to download a pdf of the catalogue or email me if you would like a hard copy sent to you (please, if you already have a current SU demonstrator, please contact them first....if not,  I would love to be your demonstrator and I'd be happy to send you a catalogue).

Two - it's another Artful Stampers Blog Hop Day!!

Hopefully you have hopped here from Nicole Wilson's blog and have been impressed by all the projects you've seen in these colours. When Alisa set the colours, I had a 'woah' moment....I hardly ever use that many colours at once so it was a challenge for me. :)

The colours are Blackberry Bliss, Rich Razzleberry, Garden Green, Wild Wasabi and Crumb Cake

If you want to know how I got the edges of my petals so dark, here's my 'hacking ink with Blendabilites' technique....

....I got my darkest Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities marker and I dipped it into some Blackberry Bliss ink (from the lid of the ink pad) and then coloured straight onto the card stock. The Blended Bloom stamp was stamped with Blackberry Bliss (not Black Memento Ink) by the way.

I don't know if this is a new technique, old technique or even something that Stampin' Up! even endorse with their Blendabilities, but it worked and it looks great! :)

Do you want to build a snowman? a breakdown of my card? (sorry, I couldn't help it...the movie is on in the background in my house :) ).

Blended Bloom - stamped in Blackberry Bliss
Blended Bloom - petals and middle coloured with Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities
Blended Bloom - darker edges of petals coloured with the darkest Rich Razzleberry marker dipped into some Blackberry Bliss ink (from the lid of the ink pad).
Blended Bloom - pollen coloured with Crumb Cake Blendabilities
Blended Bloom - stamen (I think that is what the little lines are called) coloured with Wild Wasabi marker and then I changed my mind so I coloured over the top with the lightest Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities marker
Dotty Angles - stamped first with Garden Green, then stamped over the top with Wild Wasabi
Good Greetings - masked the 'give' from the 'give thanks' stamp and then stamped with Blackberry Bliss....remember that you can get this set for free with any qualifying order of $300!
DSP - Wild Wasabi
Cardstock - Whisper White, Garden Green

A supply list with links to my store is below. :)

There! Lots of colours can be done.

Please visit The Artful Stampers Blog Hop participants (below) and leave some lovely comments. Next on the  hop is Tamsin Adams. I can't wait to see what she's done with the colours. :)

Alison Barclay - that's me!

Cheers and Happy Hopping!
