Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Butterfly Framelit Die

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

Here are the essentials:

  • No white cardstock!! A complete departure of style for me, but only in the colour department...I've still kept the design simple and let the colours speak for themselves.
  • Kraft + wood. Wooden elements work beautifully with Kraft cardstock - try it!
  • Keep the die cut intact. I kept the intricate pieces of the butterfly intact for effect - just make the Big Shot sandwich shallower so that the pieces don't get cut all the way through.
  • Use up your DSP! I used a sheet of the Bermuda Bay stripey DSP from the Shine On Specialty DSP pack.

Here are our colours for this week:

Card recipe

Stamp - none!
Ink - none!
Cardstock - Melon Mambo, Bermuda Bay, Shine On DSP
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals, SNAIL, Bold Butterfly Framelit Die, Big Shot, Fine Tip Glue Pen.
Accessories - Natural Expressions Element

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Farmers Market DSP

Hi!

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Elizabeth's blog!

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing a project from the Artistic Expression section (pages 111 - 134 ) of the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

I really found it hard to choose a project to CASE. This section of the catalogue is bursting with beautiful inspiration.

I managed to narrow it down to this card that uses the Farmers Market DSP.

I used a Blackberry Bliss base and stamped it with the Hardwood stamp with Blackberry Bliss ink...you probably can't see it very well in the photo but it is there. I wanted to echo the hardwood background (which is DSP) from the original card.

I layered a metallic foil doily, some burlap ribbon and some Crumb Cake satin ribbon under my greeting. If the greeting looks a bit familiar, it's because it is a scrap practice piece from this card. :)

I finished it off with a gold button (vintage SU) and tied some of the trimmed burlap though that.

Here's my inspiration....

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics

Hi

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop. Welcome from Tamsin's blog.

We have a Freestyle week for the blog hop this week so anything goes!

CASOLOGY have a 'Wings' challenge too so I was inspired to do something butterfly related.

Ages and ages ago, the wonderful Catherine Pooler was way ahead of the trend and created a beautiful recessed butterfly card which was just stunning! I have trawled the inter webs to try and find it, but I can't locate the image so if you find it, please let me know. Go visit her blog and StampNation anyway - she is amazing!

Here's my card...

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics

Hi

Welcome to another Artful Stampers blog hop!

My card today uses the Bird Builder Punch as the focus of the card. I stamped on the bird with the netting stamp from Butterfly Basics in Melon Mambo and I sponged around the edges for definition. I used the sketch this week from Freshly Made Sketches and rather than use a white background (which is my usual style), I thought I would go BOLD and use Night of Navy as the base. I had some vintage DSP which I thought would look good on here too.

The Melon Mambo Stitched Satin Ribbon provides a striking splash of colour against the navy.

How good do these colours look together!!? Beautiful!

Here are our colours for the challenge...

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper

Hi!

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Monique's blog.

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing a project from the Love and Sympathy section of the 2015-2016 Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

Here's my card...

I used the Timeless Elegance Designer Series paper and, differing from the inspiration photo, I kept the colour palette as Very Vanilla, Basic Black and Tip Top Taupe which are the colours in the DSP.

I layered the DSP against a Basic Black layer and then onto a vanilla card base. My sentiment is from Butterfly Basics and I added a flourish from Flowering Flourishes onto my sentiment panel in Tip Top Taupe. The sentiment is die cut with the Chalk Talk Framelits

Here's my inspiration:
