Stampin’ Up! Australia - Pineapple Stamp Set

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept's challenge this week is a colourful array of wall pots...in all the rainbow colours. :)

I have a few new stamps - yay! I thought I would break out the Pineapple stamp for this card. I wanted to get a painted look on the Pineapple stamp so I got the large brushstroke stamp from the Work of Art stamp set and stamped straight onto the Pineapple stamp with each colour.

The colours from base to crown are:

Flirty Flamingo*
Sweet Sugarplum*
Dapper Denim*
Cucumber Crush
Delightful Dijon
Peekaboo Peach*
Watermelon Wonder

*denotes NEW 2016-2018 In Color

This is a card for yet another ex-work-colleague who is moving to southern pastures, so I heat embossed the ‘congrats’ greeting from the Tin of Cards stamp set and embellished the card with some White Accents.

Here’s the inspiration image:

I hope you like my card! :)

I have closed my online store but I am still an active demonstrator so if you would like to place an order feel free to email me. :)

Cheers

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Pineapple Birthday Card

Hi!

I’m loving this new Pineapple background stamp from the new 2016-2017 Annual Catalogue. I went crazy with some rainbow brush strokes (from Work of Art) in the background - a mix of 4 new In Colors and 3 from last year.

I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and flipped it. :)

I hope you like my card! :)

I have closed my online store but I am still an active demonstrator so if you would like to place an order feel free to email me. :

Cheers

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! No Bones About It

Hi!

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop and welcome from Leah’s blog

I’ve used No Bones About It again...I can’t get enough of those little dinosaurs on my cards!

Here are the essentials:
  • No Bones About It is a two-step stamping set. Stamp your background in a lighter colour (I used Sahara Sand) and stamp the second stamp in a darker colour (I used Chocolate Chip for the bones)
  • Shake it like a polaroid with the Squares Framelit Dies. These give cool window frames for that on-trend polaroid look.
  • Layer some texture. I layered Naturals Chevron Ribbon and a strip of Cherry Cobbler for visual interest and colour.
  • Use up your embellishments! If you are anything like me, you are way too sparing with embellishments. Throw some candy dots on for fun!
  • Stuck for an idea??....visit one of the many challenge sites on the internet or visit here every Monday for a colour or sketch challenge idea. This week I’ve combined challenges (I often do!)...so I’ve used a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and colours from our team colour challenge. :) I find that the colours and sketches will often guide me to a stamp set or design concept.
  • Heat Embossing. White greetings look great on a dark background....solution...white heat emboss your greeting onto your dark card stock.
    1. Use an embossing buddy to remove static...just rub it over the card stock...a small layer of ‘dust’ will appear. This is normal and helps ‘dry’ your surface and removes the natural oils from your hands that stick to the card stock during crafting. Your powder will unfortunately stick to this residue if you don’t do this.
    2. Stamp your greeting or image with Versamark. Versamark is a sticky ink....it’s magic really as the embossing powder will stick to it thus producing your finished image.
    3. Gently pour your chosen colour of embossing power over your stamped Versamark image. I have a powder pal (now retired) to catch the excess powder but you can use a plastic container or even a piece of paper folded in half to catch the powder. This makes it easier to get all the powder back in the pot.
    4. Got stray specks of powder? Invest in a very fine paintbrush from a craft shop and gently tap those specks away.
    5. Grab your Heat Tool and slowly heat the surface of the emboss powder - some people heat from underneath the card stock but I heat directly on top of - not too close but close enough that you see the surface melt. It is magic!!
Here’s an informative video from Stampin’ Up! to help you....

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Botanicals For You

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept's challenge this week suggests hearts, colour and flowers to me!

Here’s the inspiration image.....

Here are the essentials:
  • Watermelon Wonder card base was embossed with the Happy Heart Embossing Folder.
  • The greeting from Botanicals  For You was heat embossed onto a piece of Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum.
  • The vellum was adhered to the Watermelon Wonder card stock with Tear & Tape Adhesive...I was certain that it would show through but this stuff seems to be the ticket when it comes to invisible tape for vellum! YAY!
  • Rolled flowers were made by punching a 1 3/4 circle from a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock. The cardstock was crumpled and mashed so that I could peel the layers apart thus giving a 'suede' type look. I then rolled the flowers and adhered them to the leaves which were die cut with the Botanical Builder Framelit Dies.
  • Flowers were painted with Wink of Stella Clear to give a glimmery finish.

Card recipe
Stamps - Botanicals for You
Ink - Versamark, White Embossing Powder
Cardstock - Watermelon Wonder, Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum, Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, Mint Macaron
Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Big Shot, Happy Heart Embossing Folder, Banners Framelit Dies, Botanical Builder Framelit Dies, Paper Snips, Multipurpose Liquid Glue,
Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #109

Chocolate Chip #1

Hi

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Rebecca's blog.

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing a sketch from the page 22 of the Occasions catalogue.
CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

Here's my card:

I took some inspiration from the original card with the Hardwood stamp set background and the choice of tree and landscape on the banner. I added some twine just to tie in the colours a bit.
I used Color Coach colours of Chocolate Chip, Wild Wasabi, and Soft Sky. The Hardwood stamp was heat embossed in white on Chocolate Chip card stock.

Here's the sketch:
