Summer Starfruit #1
Hi
Summer Starfruit was one of those colours that seemed to polarise the Stampin' Up! population - you either loved it or you hated it. I love it - it is kinda retro to me, but still can feel modern and bold. For this card on my Color Coach Journey, Summer Starfruit is teamed with Perfect Plum and Smoky Slate.
I really wanted to play with my Stampin' Spritzers and use a mask/stencil for this card. The new SU masks haven't hit Australian shores yet so I used a non-SU stencil on this card as I wanted a hexagon background so as to fit with the challenge theme at Casology this week which is 'Bees'.
I filled my spritzer with a mix of rubbing alcohol and some Summer Starfruit ink refill and sprayed it over my stencil.

My card is also inspired by this sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch....and the "two stamps" challenge at Less is More.
I separated my 'Happy Day' sentiment with a little bee from an old Sale-a-bration set called "Sweet Summer"....it is meant to be a bit of a bee pun....Happy B'day.... :)
Don't forget that Summer Starfruit is a retiring In Color so be quick and go to my online store to order it if you don't already have stocks. Happy Day is also retiring so check that out too. :)
Cheers
Alison xx
