Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #96 - Cheerful Critters - One Layer Card

Pumpkin Pie #1

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

Less is More are having a One Layer Card challenge this week with the added theme of 'Animals'.

My Color Coach colours today are Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Early Espresso. I wanted to use Cheerful Critters on my card as it is such a cute stamp set, so the fact that Daffodil Delight is featured in my colour options, the little chick was the obvious choice. I used Pumpkin Pie Blendabilities and an Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker to give him a plaid shirt.

My original idea was to just have the chick on the bottom right hand side of the card and nothing else, but I was looking at my masks/stencils and thought maybe I could mask the bird and have stars appearing behind it, but as I was moving my stencil around on the page, I had it at an angle and one of those fun creative light bulb moments happened. :)

Less is More theme:

Edited 18/03/15.... I am also linking this card to the AAA Card Challenge as they are having a Bare Naked CAS challenge. :)

I also used the Envelope Liner Framelit Die to cut a piece of Pumpkin Pie Designer Series Paper to line the envelope to match the card.

I hope you like my card. If you have been inspired by it and would like to support my creative business, all the supplies may be found by clicking through the links below which will take you to my store.

Stampin' Up! Australia - A Happy Thing - Sale-A-Bration - CASE-ing the Catty #20

Hi

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty!

Today the challenge is all about CASE-ing from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue and to use Blendabilities and Framelits.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole challenge blog is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.
So check out the Blendabilities and Framelits in the Sale-A-Bration Catalogue and find a project that you would like to try.

There are lots of ideas but here's a few to help you get started -
  • CASE a sketch or layout
  • Try a colour combo
  • CASE an embellishment and use it on your own project

Most importantly, have FUN!

Guidelines -

  • Create a new project for the current challenge.
  • Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back here so others can join in on the fun.  Please ensure that you link up your blog post, not your whole blog.
  • Mostly SUO (Stampin' Up! ® Only) products (retired or current) to be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.
  • Have fun and inspire others!
I was inspired by the image from page 18 of the Sale-A-Bration catalogue, and also by the sketch at The Paper Players. Less is More also have the theme of 'Wings' this week so that was a good reason to use the beautiful bird from A Happy Thing.

My bird is actually an Eastern Yellow Robin which is a bird indigenous to Australia along the eastern coast where I live. Isn't he delightful!!?

Stampin' Up! Australia - Sunshine Shaker Card with Back to Black DSP

Hi

I am vowing to play in more challenges this year and to use more of my vintage & retired stamp sets and supplies.....after all they are still perfectly viable and it is nice to show you how they can be incorporated with new patterned papers and techniques.

I was inspired by a few challenges this week....Freshly Made Sketches, Casology (theme word "LIGHT"), and the colour challenge at Less is More (Black, Metallic + own choice).

Here I used the retired 'Sunshine' stamp and coloured it with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, and added some new Back to Black DSP. I love how the raindrops on the patterned paper and the clouds on the Cloudy Day embossing folder work with the "You are My Sunshine" story.

This is my second ever shaker card....they are really fun to make actually and I can see why they are so popular. I used the Gold Sequin Trim and took the sequins off the thread to use in my shaker frame, I added some yellow sequins and clear sequins too for effect. :)

LESS IS MORE

Stampin' Up! have Window Sheets and Shaker Framer foam adhesive sheets that make creating a shaker card very easy. The foam adhesive sheets are higher than a standard dimensional so that the sequins and confetti have space to shake around. On my first card, I used dimensionals and they all got a bit stuck sadly.

Hope you like my card. Visit my my online store to purchase any of the supplies used to make them (although the stamp set and the embossing folder are retired, you can use any square sentiment or embossing folder that you like), or click through the links below.

The 2015 Occasions catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration catalogue will be out on 6th January so if you would like to go on my mailing list and receive your free copy, just send me an email. :)

Cheers
