Stampin' Up! Australia - Build A Birthday + Wondrous Wreath Christmas Card

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

When I saw these colours, I knew I wanted to create a Christmas card, but I wasn't sure how to theme it. I looked to Merry Monday this week for their challenge and saw it was 'Candles and Flowers'....perfect!

I used Build-A-Birthday and Wondrous Wreath to make a modern layered Christmas card. The candle flames were stamped in Crumb Cake and heat embossed over the top with Iridescent Ice embossing powder - they are lovely and sparkly. :)

I also got to use the gorgeous 5/8" Striped Cotton Ribbon in Lost Lagoon...looks great against the Very Vanilla card stock in real life. Makes a very rustic bow.

Here are our colours....

Retrosketches helped with this great layered sketch....

Here's the inspiration image from Merry Monday...

Edited 7/7/15 - I was so honoured to be in the gallery of Honorable Mentions this week for the Merry Monday Challenge. :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Sprinkles of Life with Zoo Babies

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

I saw this sketch at Retrosketches and thought it would make a wonderful card using the new Sprinkles of Life stamp set and punch. I even used the cupcake sprinkles stamp as the straw for the animals to stand on.

Zoo Babies added some cuteness. :)

I used a stencil from a kit from the last catalogue for the sunshine, but the effect is easily achieved using a circle punched stencil and some rectangular post it notes. I used Hello Honey for the sun centre and So Saffron for the rays and used sponges to get a graduated look.

Here are our colours for this week's challenge:

Here's the Retrosketch challenge:

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #99 - Stampin' Up! Celebrate Today

Pumpkin Pie #2

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

I tried to make this ‪combo of Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Pacific Point a clean & simple affair...but really...who was I kidding!? With these bold colours....I just had to go for it and use Celebrate Today to smash a fun layered birthday card! :)

The background is the chevron print from the Brights Designer Series Paper Stack and the Pacific Point centre panel is the Irresistibly Yours DSP sponged with Pacific Point. Remember this DSP is only available in the Sale-A-Bration catalogue until 31st March!

My card was inspired by the sketch at Retrosketches this week:

Stampin' Up! Australia - Christmas Flower Patch Card

Hi

Here's a card that I made with everyone's favourite "Stamp Set of the Moment", Flower Patch!

I am part of a Facebook demonstrator group called "Elite Stampers" and we love to share ideas with one another, answer questions and generally have a great old crafty time. If you join my team, you will get to join this group too!

The challenge this week was to create a Christmas Card with a non-Christmas stamp set. The sketch at Retrosketches inspired me and BAM.....a Christmas card with the Flower Patch stamp set was born!

I hope you like it.

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #46 - Chalk Talk Daydream Medallion Watercolor Notecard

Gumball Green #2
Hi

I have just realised that my numbering is a bit out on my Color Coach Journey blog posts, so for Card #45 visit here. :)

Today's card uses Gumball Green, Marina Mist and Midnight Muse. I have used one of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Notecards as my base card since it is a Gumball Green colour.

I was inspired by the sketch at Retrosketches this week....my card is a loose interpretation.....I started off with one Daydream Medallion stamp to reference the circle off to the side, but then the others just started to pile on and I liked the look of them. :)

My "Chalk Talk" tag was partly inspired by the tags from the Managers Reception gifts from the Stampin' Up! South Pacific Convention that is taking place in Melbourne at the moment. I am not at Convention this year (#sadface), but some other demonstrators have kindly shared photos and I really love the tags! :)

Hope you like my card. The Watercolor Wonder Designer Notecards really are a cool foundation for your cards...hop over to my online store and add these to your shopping cart! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #43 - Happy Watercolour

Pool Party #2
Hi

I absolutely LOVE this stamp set called "Happy Watercolour" - the background watercolour swipes are so lovely to stamp with and they are great for backgrounds like this.

Retrosketches have a great sketch out this week and Less is More have a one-layer-challenge to make a thank you card. "Happy Watercolour" was the perfect set to use!

This is a 'Color Coach Journey' card using Pool Party, Crushed Curry & Old Olive. They work together beautifully! :)

I embellished the middle of my flower image with Dazzling Details.

Hope you like my card!

Cheers

CASE Study Design Team

Marina Mist Card #2

Hi

Here's a card from my my Color Coach Journey. This card uses Marina Mist, Old Olive and Real Red.

I have used the sketch from Retrosketches this week to help me. There were lots of cool angles in their sketch and I haven't done a card that uses layered angles before.

I am also entering this card into the CASE Study Design Team call. I haven't been on a Design Team for a while, and I do really miss the regular challenge to create something unusual and inspiring. CASE Study always have UNBELIEVABLE muses to inspire the team and participants.

My personal muse is Catherine Pooler - she has such a fun and artistic style and is always pushing the boundaries of her creativity. She is never unafraid to try new things and I think that is the key to developing as a card designer. I am always in awe of the things that she does with paper, stamps and ink!

She has shared a few angled cards on Stampnation, but I think this one on her blog  is my favourite. There's also a photo below my card :)

I was inspired by her gradient sponging, angles, and gold sequins. So cool!

I got the effect on my card by sponging Marina Mist, Real Red and Old Olive onto a piece of Whisper White. The overlap of Real Red & Marina Mist produces a lovely purple colour and the overlap of Old Olive and Marina Mist gives a gorgeous deep teal.
I hope you dig my card! :)

Cheers
