Dynamic Duos #54 - Stampin' Up! Itty Bitty Banners Wedding Card

Hello there

At Dynamic Duos this week, we have a wonderful monochromatic duo as our inspiration. Midnight Muse would have to be one of my favourite colours - a beautiful deep luscious blue! I think it's lovely.

A while back on the Dynamic Duos team Facebook page, it was mentioned that even though Dynamic Duos has a two-colour rule, the challenge isn't exclusively a 'clean & simple' design challenge. Now clean & simple IS my default style and I am very comfortable in that zone....however after reading this I made the comment that I always seem to take design elements OFF of my cards before finishing them....I seem to strip them bare sometimes.....anyhoo...this week I thought I would step out of my comfort zone.

Now I actually made the card at the bottom of my blog first.....but I wasn't satisified with it....too much going on.....so I returned to my craft desk and there was some bits & pieces laying around on the desk and I kinda 'pulled' them all ontop of one another and the second card was made.....I was trying to channel my inner-
Kimberly Van Diepen for this one....she is a US demonstrator who has a beautiful but fun vintage shabby chic style....she seems to manage to be simple and uncluttered, yet there is whimsy and cute elements in all her cards. Anyway, I'll leave it up to you to decide if I have come close to 'clean & simple vintage style'....

....and here's the card that I made first.....a card that is meant to be all geometric, boyish and fun...but I decided that there was too much going on so I didn't use it on the Design Team blog....

So join in and make something with these colours.....make 2 cards like me even! Let me know which card you prefer.
Cheers
Alison xx

  2. Both cards are great! One is delicate and the other is bold. If I HAD to pick......I would pick.....the original!

  3. Both cards are gorgeous, but I like the one you posted with the pearls. The original one is beautiful but it is more bold with the zig zag edges and I prefer a softer edge.
