Stampin' Up! Betsy's Blossoms - Wedding Card

Hi

This week's
Dynamic Duos challenge asks participants to team Cherry Cobbler with any colour of choice and the challenge at Less is More is for a card for "Love & Marriage".

Since the Stampin' Up! set is proving to be more than versatile, I though I would try it on a wedding card and I punched a heart out of the circle flower design while layering it over another corner stamped with the same image (hope that makes sense). The flower design is stamped in the top right hand corner also (to get the faded look, this was "stamped off" 3 times onto grid paper before stamping the cardstock). The card looked a little 'bare' so I used pearls of differing sizes to create little corners.

It is very simple...lots of white space....this cardstock is the new Naturals White which has small flecks through it and looks a little bit 'recycled' and groovy.

Before I show you the card, I have some very exciting news to share with you tomorrow...so make sure you come back and visit me!! :)

Hope you like my card....

Materials used:
Stamp Set - Betsy's Blossoms, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Cardstock - Naturals White
Accessories - Pearls
Tools - Paper Cutter, SNAIL, Large Heart Punch, Stamp-a-majig

Stampin' Up! Pendant Park - Sympathy Card

Hi

Sadly, I had to make a sympathy card this week and I really didn't know where to start so I went with my weekly tradition of visiting the Dynamic Duos website and had a look at the Less is More challenge blog for inspiration.

My card is a "One Layer" card with some sponging using a Framelit as a template and the Pendant Park stamp set. Nice and simple.

The 'Less is More" challenge asked that participants use 3 of the previous challenges so I used In the Frame (wk 19), Green (wk 44) and Foliage (wk 84).

Materials used:
Stamp Set - Pendant Park, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink - Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Sahara Sand
Cardstock - Confetti White
Accessories - Pearls
Tools - Paper Cutter, SNAIL, Paper Piercing Pack - Festive, Stampin' Pierce Mat, Piercing Tool, Labels Collection Framelit, Sponge Dauber, Stamp-a-majig

Stampin' Up! Pennant Parade

Hello!

Here's my card for this week's Festive Friday Challenge!

I was a bit scared of this colour combo....what with the regals and everything, but I finally inked up Pennant Parade to use as a Christmas feature and I am also finally getting on the Framelits bandwagon :)

I only wish that I had the Festive Paper Piercing Pack from the Holiday Catalogue as I think some paper piercing around the perimeter of the vanilla Framelit would look ace! Lucky that I've got it coming in my next order....I may pull this card apart and re-do it. I shall show you a 'before' and 'after' if you like. :)

Hope you like my card!

Stampin' Up! Mixed Medley - The Artful Stampers Holiday Catalogue Blog Hop

Hello!

Hope that you've all been enjoying the gorgeousness of the Annual Catalogue. The Holiday Catalogue also went live on the 1st of September, but we thought we'd give you a couple of weeks to get into it before we bombarded you with the beautiful things the Holiday Catty brings!!!

So another Artful Stampers Blog Hop ~ this time to celebrate the Holiday Catalogue Launch!! You may have hopped here from
Anna Foster’s blog. I’m stop #6 on the hop and I’m glad you're here sharing in the fun!!

For my project today, I made a set of notecards using the very cute Mixed Medley Hostess stamp set and the matching 1 1/4 inch scallop punch. LOVING THIS SET and I can see myself using this scallop punch a lot as it layers perfectly with the 1 1/4 circle punch and the 1 3/4 scallop punch.

I used ALL the current In Colors + Basic Black (for my Halloween card)....and the best bit is this uses just ONE sheet of Whisper White cardstock - each card is 7cm x 14cm, scored at 7cm so you can get 6 cards out of one sheet!! How is that for thrifty!!!

Now click on the link to Nicole Derendorf’s blog for the next stop on our Hop. I am sure
you will find lots of wonderful ideas on Nicole’s blog to inspire you . If you get lost or there are broken links just pop back here for the full list of stampers taking part in this hop.

Stampin' Up - Day of Gratitude

Hello!

Now here in Australia, we don't celebrate 'Thanksgiving' but I know a couple of Americans through work and they have mentioned that they were interested in making some Thanksgiving cards with me, so I got 'Day of Gratitude' for that very purpose and I can really see it lending itself to some beautiful autumnal cards as well as 'Thanksgiving' ones.

This week's challenge at Dynamic Duos is to use Cajun Craze and Always Artichoke....pretty scary colours if you ask me!!!...but then again I don't do much in the 'Regals' palette. :)

There's also a fairly new product in this card......the scallop rectangle Clearlit - page 191 ($12.95)....very cool! :)

Materials used:
Stamp - Day of Gratitude
Ink - Always Artichoke, Cajun Craze
Cardstock - Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze
Accessories - Pearls, Victoria Crochet Trim, Regals Flower Brads (retired)
Tools - Big Shot, Scallop Rectangle Clearlit

Stampin' Up! Be of Good Cheer DSP ornament

Hello!!

Are you still digesting all the gorgeousness from the new catalogues? Mine are just littered with post-it notes and an ever growing wish-list!!!

Today I want to show you some an ornament that I made with the 'Be of Good Cheer' Designer Series Paper from the 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue....the beautiful bold prints make this the perfect Christmas paper for all your seasonal projects!

For the Festive Friday Challenge this week, Nicole asked us to used Designer Series Paper in a more 'unconventional' way...not just putting it flat on a card.....so I went completely 3D!!!! Way out of my comfort zone I might add! :)

Here is the first version.....

....and here is the blinged version with extra ribbon and embellishments....the rhinestone tag at the bottom was made using 10 rhinestones over some white bakers twine and facing them towards eachother to make 5 'beads' (a little trick I learned at the Stampin' Up! Convention earlier this year).

This ornament is made up of 60 individual origami petals....yes SIXTY!! Each flower is made up of 5 petals joined together, then the ornament itself is 12 of these flowers assembled & interlocked. It took me FOREVER!!! :) Most of the work is in the folding of the petals and glueing these little guys together....the rest is fairly straightforward with the help of some Stampin' Up! sticky strip and a whole heap of patience!

If you would like the tutorial for this ornament, just email me and I'll send it to you.

Hope you like my festive piece of origami!! :)

Materials used:

Stamps - NONE!

Ink - NONE!
Paper - Be of Good Cheer Designer Series Paper
Accessories - Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon, Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon, Victoria Crochet Trim, Antique Brad, Rhinestones, Whisper White Baker's Twine
Tools - Paper Trimmer, Bone Folder (VERY IMPORTANT), Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Sticky Strip, Paper Piercing Tool, paper clips

Edited 23/8/15 - I have been inundated with requests for instructions on how to make this ornament so the pdf is here.

I absolutely cannot take any credit for it as it is a Kaisercraft one. Hope you have fun making the flowers....it is very time consuming but well worth it... :)
Just some tips...I found that SNAIL did not bond the petal folds together...they kept coming undone. It is better to use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then get a paperclip to hold them together. While they are bonding, you can be folding the next lot of 'petals' for the next flower. When it comes time to assemble the flower using your 5 petals AND assembling the ornament using your twelve flowers....sticky strip seems to be the best adhesive. It is strong enough and provides good bonding - the end product is quite heavy so you need something that will stick! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! - Betsy's Blossoms Christmas Wreath

Hello Stampin' friends
For this week's Dynamic Duos challenge, it was a 'bold and sassy' week so the colours were Poppy Parade and Lucky Limeade.

I decided to do a Christmas card using my favourite stamp set of the moment, "Betsy's Blossoms" from the new 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue. This set is so versatile....I think you could use it for just about anything!!

I went with a very 'clean and simple' design. I did have to try very hard not to add too much....the stark design is growing on me :)

I made another card (see next image) along similar lines and I added more stamps and a sentiment banner. Not sure which one I like best. Leave me a comment and let me know which you prefer and why.....I'd love to know your thoughts. :)

Materials used:
Stamps - Betsy's Blossoms (leaf stamp), Topsy-Turvy Celebrations (bow stamp), Delightful Decorations ("snowflake" stamp on 2nd card), Curly Cute (sentiment stamp on 2nd card)
Ink - Lucky Limeade and Poppy Parade
Cardstock - Whisper White - textured and smooth
Accessories - Dazzling Diamonds (on snowflakes in 2nd card)
Tools - Paper Cutter, SNAIL, Bone Folder, Dimensionals, 2-way glue pen (for Dazzling Diamonds).

Stampin' Up! Postage Due - Artful Stampers Blog Hop!

Hello friends!
It’s Stampin’ Up’s! New Annual Catalogue Time!!!  To celebrate, some of our team – The Artful Stampers – are sharing fabulous projects showcasing a selection of the gorgeous new products available in the 2012-2013 Catalogue!!

You may have hopped here from Anna Foster’s blog...I’m stop number 7 on the hop and I’m so glad you “hopped” in to see me!
Today I wanted to showcase the beautiful new stamp set "Postage Due" and the Designer Series Paper that matches the set called "Fan Fair". Both offer a lovely vintage feel to your projects.

I've teamed them with a couple of new embellishments....the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons and Naturals Designer Buttons. I've also used a new "In Color"...Midnight Muse....it is glorious!!   I stamped the image directly on to the DSP....something I don't often do, but this paper really lends itself to being a fabulous background feature.

Next stop on the blog hop is Michelle Bartholomaeus I am sure you will find lots of wonderful ideas on her amazing blog to inspire you.
Thank you for visiting and if you'd like to leave a comment I'd be very pleased to hear what you think of the new catalogue and products :-)
