Stampin' Up! Australia - Create With Connie and Mary #346 - Stampin' Up! Label Love

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary  Thursday Challenge!

This week's challenge is a colour challenge.

Here's my card:

Here are our colours:

I was inspired to do a masculine card or a teenage card - the colours conveyed a modern grungey tone to me so I went with that.

I used Celebrate Today and Gorgeous Grunge for some of the feature elements and the sentiment is from Label Love. I stamped the little star burst stamp from Celebrate today onto a wooden element just for something different.

I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday to kick start my card.

I hope you like my card. The recipe is below. :)

Stamps - Label Love, Celebrate Today, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Wild Wasabi, Sahara Sand
Cardstock - Basic Black, Whisper White, Basic Black DSP
Accessories - Essentials Wooden Elements
Tools - Artisan Label Punch, 2 1/2 inch Circle Punch, SNAIL, Multipurpose Liquid
Glue, Stampin' Dimensionals.

I hope you will join in and create a card with us.....and please feel free to leave me and the other CCMC participants some comments! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! I Love Lace Wedding Card

Hi

I made this card by experimenting with a heat embossed image and then pressing it into coloured ink and water. The heat embossed image resists the ink thus retaining its pattern, and the coloured inks merge and blend into fun patterns in the background.

I used Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana & Crisp Cantaloupe since they blend so well together.

I cut them into strips and mounted them on black card stock for the Freshly Made Sketches sketch this week. I thought it looked so pretty that it should be a wedding card....so I put a wedding sentiment on it from Label Love and scattered it with sequins (sneak peek from the Holiday Catalogue!) :)

Note - I used the 12x12 (30cm x30cm) Whisper White Cardstock to get this square card (which measures 12 x 24cm when flat)....it is more cost effective when doing square cards as you get two out of one piece. :)

I hope you like my card! :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach #64 - Welcome to the CASEing the Catty Challenge Blog!

Crisp Cantaloupe #2

#ColorCoachJourney

Hi

Welcome to the first challenge at CASE-ing the Catty. I am thrilled to announce that I am on the Design Team and can't wait see all the beautiful projects from my talented team members, and of course those of you following and playing along! :)

CASE - The acronym stands for COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING. The latest Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue certainly encourages crafters to do just that as it is jam packed with amazing, inspirational projects.

The idea is to feature a section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue each week using the projects in the catty as inspiration.

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.

Here's a Badge to paste to your blog:

Guidelines

  •   Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking).
  • Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
  • Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country's catalogue where you got your inspiration.
  • SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

So let's go!

Here's my project:

I cased the gift box on page 16 of the catalogue. The Tag a Bag gift boxes (pg 201) are AWESOME and I always keep some on hand to decorate for last minute gifts. They are cool because they are pre-scored and cut so you just fold it together to make the box base, then the acetate tube slides over as the lid. Easy!

I added a flower made with the Spiral Flower Die as a main feature. I scrunched it up and separated the layers so essentially I had two spirals out of the one die and then I curled one up and then curled the second one up around it.....because the paper layers are separated, it gives a beautiful faux-suede look and it looks almost like a real flower!

In keeping with my Color Coach colours, I combined Crisp Cantaloupe with Soft Suede and Pink Pirouette. The Pink Pirouette can be seen on the little heart punch on the tag (from the Owl Builder Punch) and I scrunched up some brown paper (the stuff that we get in all our SU orders) and layered some Pink Pirouette paper strips on the top.

I love this gift box as the decorations just sit on the top of the acetate, so even once the recipient opens it, the decorations stay intact and the box may be reusable.

I really love the way this came together. :)

Hope you can play along with us this week and please leave a comment below and visit the Design Team...I know they would love to hear from you. :)

You can also visit my online store if you would like to order any of these supplies.

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #53 - Stampin' Up Label Love Baby Card

Primrose Petals #3

Hi

Primrose Petals' complementary colour is Pink Pirouette....so what better to do with these two colours than to make a baby card with them!

I had some Primrose Petals Core'dinations paper and I hadn't yet used the fabulous Ampersand Embossing folder so I embossed it and then sanded the paper back to reveal a distressed lighter core colour.

I mounted this on some Pink Pirouette DSP with some doilies poking out to soften the edges.

I stamped the "Cutest Baby Ever" stamp from Label Love with Primrose Petals ink and then punched it out with the Artisan Label Punch. I embellished with a little "Itty Bitty" flower in Pink Pirouette, a pearl, and some Primrose Petals stitched Satin Ribbon.

Cute huh!?

Click through to my online store to grab the Primrose Petals line before it retires. The Ampersand Embossing Folder is in the current Occasions catalogue.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Project #48 - Tag A Bag Gift Box in Midnight Muse

Midnight Muse #2
Hi

Here's my first 3D project on my Color Coach Journey. I don't do a lot of them as I prefer cards but the Tag-A-Bag Gift Boxes make it really easy to turn a simple present into a beautiful gift.

A colleague at work was leaving so I made up a batch of my favourite chocolate chip cookies and put them in one of these boxes and decorated it with some Epic Day DSP, some Midnight Muse ribbon, a rolled flower and a tag. EASY!

The colour coach suggested Midnight Muse, Pool Party & Cherry Cobbler, which at first sounds weird, but it does make for an elegant combination.

What do you think!?

If I were you, I would have a stash of these boxes (they store flat) in your craft room....they really do make the best gifts if you fill them with something yummy and home-baked! :)

It's a great way to use up some of that hoarded Designer Series Paper....yes, I am looking at YOU! ;)

Note, that there are a few soon-to-be retired items in this project so have a look at the list in my online store and place an order before they run out.

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Catalogue CASE - Sweet Sorbet DSP

Hi

I CASE'd this card from the Sale-A-Bration catalogue....and added way more embellishments than I am used to! LOL!

I was going to put a tag on the card like the one in the catalogue, but I couldn't bring myself to cover up that beautiful tree on the patterned paper....so I punched a sentiment from Label Love and put it on the top.

I also created some 'fake' beads using the Rhinestones and added them to the end of the pool party twine.

Hope you like my card...you can get nearly all of the supplies for free when you place a Stampin' Up! order of $90. Let me know if you need some help and I will put together an order for you that will make best use of the freebies. :)

Cheers
Alison

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Gorgeous Grunge

Hi

My card today were inspired by these cards by Catherine Pooler. I loved her background stamping and the use of the die cut monogram.

I am a bit behind on my thank you cards for my boys for their Christmas presents. They were very lucky this year and our relatives and friends were so generous with gifts for them. I like to send thank you cards out as I think it is important for the next generation to develop the art of gratitude and that to say 'thank you' means to honour the person who thought to do something caring towards you. My eldest son (5 yrs old) loves to write his name in the cards and we discuss our favourite things about the gift etc...

So.....why N2? My sons both have names that start with the letter 'N' and my husband and I often refer to them collectively as 'N-squared'....hence N2.

....my 'N' is die cut from a sheet of glossy black card stock that I found in my miscellaneous stash...it was from a backing board from a bound document book. May I make a bit of a trend prediction that glossy coloured card stock will be the next big thing!! When you see this in real life, the N looks so cool and edgy and glossy....you just want to touch it! The '2' is cut from Stampin' Up! Silver Foil....also very tactile and glossy. I just love them together!!! :)

I loved the layout so much that I made another variation on it....this birthday card using Label Love and the wonderful, awesome Essentials Wooden Elements from the up and coming Occasions catalogue. I decorated them with Candy Dots which just makes them MORE cool!

I really love these cards!

Don't forget to browse my online store and place an order if anything here catches your eye. :) The Essentials Wooden Elements will be available on 28th January...email me if you would like your free Occasions catalogue mailed to you.

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #21 - Positively Chevron

Rose Red Card #2

Dear Stampin' friends,

Now this Color Coach card didn't really turn out the way I expected, but sometimes those cards are quite cool - yes?

This isn't based on any kind of sketch, but it was inspired partially by a card in our Impressions magazine and partially by a technique that I recently saw on Catherine Pooler's Stamp Nation forum where she did a really cool wood-grain look on her card.

I had a piece of Crumb Cake from an abandoned project that I had stamped with Rose Red using the Positively Chevron background stamp. The Colour Coach colours are Rose Red, Soft Suede & Marina Mist, but I have taken a bit of artistic license and used Crumb Cake as my neutral since I'm not using Very Vanilla or Whisper White. Is that ok do you think? I guess I'm just making the rules up as I go along. ;)

....anyway...I made the background using some Soft Suede ink, Craft Whisper White ink and Marina Mist ink with some help from my Simply Scored.

I wanted to make Rose Red the feature of my sentiment panel so I cut a piece with my Apothecary Accents Framelits and added a feature of Rose Red DSP (retired....I think it is called Sweet & Sour) ....decorated it with my main sentiment panel tag + some Marina Mist Candy Dots and there you go! FInished card!

It's not my usual style but I really like the background - it looks like a graffiti wall I think.

If you love this card and want to support my business and creativity then I invite you to browse through my online store.

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - CAS(E) this Sketch! - Masculine card with Label Love

Dear Stampin' friends,

I recently got the new 'Label Love' stamp and punch bundle from Stampin' Up! It is very cool and the "Happy Birthday" stamp is great for masculine cards.

Also, do you have 1cm strips of cardstock in every colour imaginable laying around your craft desk!??? Well snip them up and use them on a card like this.....

I was inspired by the card sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch this week. Very cool and unfussy - perfect for a card for a guy!

This card was made for my lovely husband for his birthday. He really liked it! YAY!

Cheers
