Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Sketched Birthday - CASE-ing the Catty #3

Hi

At CASE-ing the Catty this week, we are exploring the Birthday chapter of the catalogue.

CASE - The acronym stands for COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING. The latest Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue certainly encourages crafters to do just that as it is jam packed with amazing, inspirational projects.

The idea is to feature a section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue each week using the projects in the catty as inspiration.

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.

Here's a Badge to paste to your blog:

Guidelines

  •   Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
  • Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
  • Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country's catalogue where you got your inspiration.
  • SUO products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.

So let's go!

For my card, I was inspired by the card on page 51...see below....the card designer for the catalogue used Giggle Greetings which is very cute, but I don't have it! (yet), but I do have Sketched Birthday and I thought the piece of cheese in the original could be a slice of cake on a plate!

I used the colour palette from the original inspiration photo and used the basic layout too. I am a little bit in love with the Polka Dot Textured Impressions Embossing Folder....such a fun way to add texture to a background.

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #62 - Stampin' Up! Sketched Birthday

Coastal Cabana #2

#ColorCoachJourney

 Hi!

Today's card is based on a diagonal sketch layout from Clean & Simple Stamping.

The color coach colours are Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Smoky Slate. The DSP is from Eastern Elegance which is some DSP from last years catalogue that featured Coastal Cabana. I liked the geometric pattern on it.

The dots are from Perfect Pennants....the horizontal stamp isn't quite as wide as the card so I stamped it twice in a line - can you believe I stamped that without a stamp-a-majig..talk about lucky!

The stars were punched from Calypso Coral and then embellished with Smoky Slate candy dots. I threw on a couple more Rhinestone jewels for effect. :)

The sketch called for the sentiment to be across the top of the diagonal patterned piece but I just couldn't make it work so I opted for the dots and put the sentiment panel at the bottom.

Hope you like my card!

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #13 - Sketched Birthday - Pals Paper Arts

Pink Pirouette Card #1
Dear Stampin' friends,

Yes...I am still going ahead with the crazy idea of blogging my way through the Stampin’ Up! Color Coach and I have NO plans to give up...regardless of a waning mojo....I have started at the beginning of the color coach today with Pink Pirouette. I'm not terribly into 'pink' so thankfully the Design Team at Pals Paper Arts have provided this awesome sketch and I threw the combination of Pink Pirouette, Pool Party & Crumb Cake at it. The cupcake image is from "Sketched Birthday".

Here's the card.....I'm not sold on my little flower/vintage brad embellishment...I thought it would add flair, but I think it detracts from the main stamped image now... **sigh**

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Convention - Brisbane 2013 .....sneak peek of new product!

Hi Stampin' friends

At the end of May, I attended the Stampin' Up! Convention here in Brisbane with about 700 demonstrators from Australia & New Zealand. It is an amazing convention and one that I would encourage everyone to attend.....demonstrators and their non-demo guests are welcome!

Here's why I think Stampin' Up! Convention is so cool.....
1. I got to hear Shelli Gardner, the Co-Founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! present and create beautiful projects onstage. She is warm & funny.....and so inspirational!!

2. I got to hear other inspirational and creative people from Stampin' Up! head office talk about the exciting things coming our way......and I got a copy of the BRAND NEW CATALOGUE!! Eeeekkkkk

3. I got to watch some talented demonstrators present on stage and share what they love about Stampin' Up!

4. I got to catch up with some beautiful fellow demonstrators who I am blessed to call friends.

5. I got to create some cards using NEW colours and NEW stamp sets during the Make & Take sessions

6. I got heaps of FREE stuff!! (not the most important thing as Stampin' Up! President Rich Jutkins most eloquently explained to us....but free product IS exciting to receive :)

Speaking of free stuff.....here's a sneak peek using two of the many stamp sets I received at Convention. I was inspired by this week's Dynamic Duos combo of Pear Pizzazz and Black. Yay for Pear Pizzazz returning as a core Stampin' Up! colour. :)

For my card, I used the "Bouncing Brayer" technique which was shown to us by Paula Dobson. I used Pear Pizzazz for my brayered background and used a new stamp set for all the background splotches and "tracks". My sentiment is also from a brand new stamp set!! Aren't they both cool!!?

If you would like to know how to make this card, email me - I'd love to demonstrate for you at a workshop!

Don't forget to visit the rest of the Design Team to see their wonderful creations....

Stampin' Up! Color Coach - Card #4 - Subway Art

Smoky Slate Card #1

Dear Stampin' friends

Today on my Stampin’ Up! Color Coach Blog Challenge ,I introduce to you.....SMOKY SLATE
.....and I can fast see this becoming a favourite neutral colour....it is lighter than Basic Grey with almost silvery purple tones. :)

The color coach combo today is Smoky Slate....Soft Sky...and Calypso Coral....a bit weird but it really makes for a modern looking card. I used some clear block stamping technique and did some 'subway art' stamping. It's a very easy 'one-layer' card....give it a try!! :)
