Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Hello Lovely with Faux Patina

Dear Stampin' friends,

Well I tried a new technique this week and it went kinda wrong and then it went kinda right! LOL

The new technique is called Faux Patina whereby you sponge ink on an embossed piece of cardstock and distress it a bit, then do some metallic embossing in a random way over the top.

I think this actually comes out a lot better with darker colours but since the colours for Dynamic Duos this week are Crisp Canteloupe and Calypso Coral, I thought I would use those and see what happened. The original outcome looked a bit like '1970's drug den wallpaper"....a little bit yuck.....but I trimmed it down just to cover the bottom third of the card and a little bit looks better than an entire card front. I flipped the remaining 2/3rd and sponged it with Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral & Crisp Canteloupe and splattered some Gold Smooch spritz over it too.

The card looks much much better in real life and it is kinda growing on me even though it is not my usual style.

Be sure to visit the Dynamic Duos Design Team for colour inspiration.....

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #16 - Stampin' Up! Feel Goods

Blushing Bride Card #1
Dear Stampin' friends,

Here's a Blushing Bride combo card for my Stampin’ Up! Color Coach Challenge - the colours here on this card are Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Early Espresso. I think the colours work really well together.....plus I'm glad I stepped out of my comfort zone a little bit with this sketch.

The sketch is from the Mojo Monday sketch challenge this week.

There's a few retired things on this card...but you could easily use current DSP and a Blushing Bride Candy Dot or Silver Glimmer brad. I have used some retired Textured Cardstock, but Coredinations would look just as good. :)

Happy Stampin'!
Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #10 - Hello Lovely

Bermuda Bay Card #1
Dear Stampin' friends

Today we welcome Bermuda Bay to the Stampin' Up! family!! On my self-imposed Color Coach Challenge journey, I find myself using Bermuda Bay with another couple of bright bold colours....Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry.

I wanted to use some of the stamps from the new Hello Lovely stamp set....and I threw a few others in as well for a bold one-layer statement.

There's also a sneak peek from our upcoming Holiday Catalogue.....the 'XOXO' is from an exciting new product that I can't tell you about just yet....but it is going to be FUN!

This is a really easy & fun card to make....it would be great for a teenage/tween-age girl I reckon...

Don't forget you may order any of these supplies at my online store.Cheers

Stampin' Up! Color Coach - Card #4 - Subway Art

Smoky Slate Card #1

Dear Stampin' friends

Today on my Stampin’ Up! Color Coach Blog Challenge ,I introduce to you.....SMOKY SLATE
.....and I can fast see this becoming a favourite neutral colour....it is lighter than Basic Grey with almost silvery purple tones. :)

The color coach combo today is Smoky Slate....Soft Sky...and Calypso Coral....a bit weird but it really makes for a modern looking card. I used some clear block stamping technique and did some 'subway art' stamping. It's a very easy 'one-layer' card....give it a try!! :)
