Hi
Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.
Okay...I'm going to show you my second card first and my first card second....
Here's my second card....made at the eleventh hour after I suddenly got a surge of creativity. :)
I made an ombre display of Spiral Flower die cut flowers - the colours are Cherry Cobbler, Real Red, Watermelon Wonder and Calypso Coral.
I also stamped my greeting after inking up with the three colours (all except Calypso Coral).
I added some Crystal Effects as dewdrops on my flowers. I will have to make a large box envelope for this card to accommodate the flowers as they are quite big. It will be a lovely card to give to someone though.
Here's the first card that I made and blogged.....there's an explanation under it. :)
I really struggled with the sketch this week....I had butterflies, scalloped circles, hexagons...you name it, I had it ALL going on a square 6 x 6 card!
...but nothing seemed to work...so I dipped into my scraps pile and found a cool card base and some punched card stock from the Convention Make n Takes.
I took some artistic license with the sketch since the literal versions weren't working for me...the rest of the Design Team put me to shame! Theirs are so beautiful!
I went with the 4 vertical circles in the form of some White Perfect Accents x 3 and the 'I Think You're Great' circle sentiment x 1
I curved the bottom right hand side of my card with the Envelope Punch Board.
Here is our sketch...

Wow, both cards are lovely. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBoth of your cards are so creative! This sketch was a bit "challenging" and I often think "I wish I had thought of that!" when I see others' cards! You did great work and the rose card is stunning!!
ReplyDeleteSo, so pretty Alison! I love the ombre roses and the dewdrops are such a lovely embellishment!!!
ReplyDeleteYour first card with those gorgeous flowers is really lovely. The ombre effect is a bonus to an already visually pleasing card! I really like the second card too. It is completely different but still creative.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the roses in ombre tones and how you inked the greeting to match! That will be a very fun card to give! I like your other card, too - the flower really pops, and it was a great idea to have the trail of thought bubbles with this sentiment. How different these are from the same sketch!
ReplyDeleteOh my...the flowers look like so much work, but they look so REAL! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI loved your initial original take on the sketch Alison, but that second card is truly a WOW - right down to the dewdrops! Jaw-droppingly beautiful! If you haven't already come across it, my Box Buster tool will make light work of a box-envelope for you: www.thecraftyowl.co.uk/boxbuster. Congratulations on your #punchitup success this week too!
