Stampin' Up Australia - Color Coach Card #127 - Stampin' Up! Blended Bloom

Very Vanilla #1

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

The Color Coach pairs Perfect Plum and Rose Red with the base colour of Very Vanilla....I found the only way I could make this combination work was to use watercolouring and some layering with gold. Rose Red and Perfect Plum are quite strong colours so you will notice that I used muted tones of both on my card.

I stamped Blended Bloom in Perfect Plum rather than Black Stazon to give a softness to the flower image. As I watercoloured with Rose Red, the Perfect Plum ink also moved around a little bit which blended quite beautifully. I used Perfect Plum for the stamen and centre details of the flower.

I used some vintage Perfect Plum DSP for the banner and used Gold Bakers Twine, Metallic Gold Twine and Gold Sequin Trim to add some luxe elements. The sentiment is from the Expressions Natural Elements pack. I LOVE these SO much! I'm buying two packs next order. :)

I finished the card (and to adhere to the sketch) with a punched piece of vellum using the Itty Bitty Butterfly punch. Every butterfly needs pearls. :)

Here's our sketch....

  1. What a gorgeous card you created! The sequin trim tucked under the banner is a first for me. I miss our border punches so I am loving this idea! The little "tail" of gold bakers twine hanging down is another element I am loving!

  2. Beautiful Alison! Love how feminine and fresh this card is. And I agree, your vellum butterfly looks smashing in pearls. ;)

  3. Your watercoloring of the flower is great! Looks like it is real...lots of dimension in your shading. Love the Vanilla textured panel. Very feminine!

  4. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous!!! I adore the color combination! I wouldn't have thought to pair the Boho Chic EF with a delicate flower but it looks amazing!!!! The gold accents are perfect too!

  5. What a beautiful card with wonderful details! Love your color scheme and how you achieved so much visual dimension with your watercoloring! Love all the gold touches also!

  6. Sooo beautiful Alison - my favourite card this week I think! I haven't used this flower stamp in ages and your card reminds be just how beautiful it is. I love the gold details, just peeking out here and there and I too am in love with these wooden sentiments - I have just ordered another box too!!

  7. Your flower is fabulous, and the details are so striking! Love, love, love the embellishments - the sequin trim, twine, vellum butterfly and greeting - it all comes together so beautifully!

  8. Wow...that is one AWESOME flower...great job with the coloring, and I love how you put the rest together! All the embellishments look so cohesive and beautiful! Great job with the sketch this week!
