I am vowing to play in more challenges this year and to use more of my vintage & retired stamp sets and supplies.....after all they are still perfectly viable and it is nice to show you how they can be incorporated with new patterned papers and techniques.
I was inspired by a few challenges this week....Freshly Made Sketches, Casology (theme word "LIGHT"), and the colour challenge at Less is More (Black, Metallic + own choice).
Here I used the retired 'Sunshine' stamp and coloured it with Daffodil Delight Blendabilities, and added some new Back to Black DSP. I love how the raindrops on the patterned paper and the clouds on the Cloudy Day embossing folder work with the "You are My Sunshine" story.
This is my second ever shaker card....they are really fun to make actually and I can see why they are so popular. I used the Gold Sequin Trim and took the sequins off the thread to use in my shaker frame, I added some yellow sequins and clear sequins too for effect. :)
LESS IS MORE
Stampin' Up! have Window Sheets and Shaker Framer foam adhesive sheets that make creating a shaker card very easy. The foam adhesive sheets are higher than a standard dimensional so that the sequins and confetti have space to shake around. On my first card, I used dimensionals and they all got a bit stuck sadly.
Hope you like my card. Visit my my online store to purchase any of the supplies used to make them (although the stamp set and the embossing folder are retired, you can use any square sentiment or embossing folder that you like), or click through the links below.
The 2015 Occasions catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration catalogue will be out on 6th January so if you would like to go on my mailing list and receive your free copy, just send me an email. :)
Cheers

Your black and yellow colour combo works beautifully, and your shaker window is perfect! I love how you have used the sequins that come in a string - they look much better in your shaker window! I have just gone back to your post to see what the embossing folder was, and then caught the connection with the raindrops on the dp - so clever! Ann x
