Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

I had this piece of bokeh scrap that was calling to be on a card. I had demonstrated the bokeh technique at a Stampin' Up! event for fellow demonstrators and this was one of the pieces where I showed that Naturals White isn't the best medium to watercolour onto and that I did some ink pad direct to paper to hide some of the pilling....so really the main panel is a watercolour + swiping ink pad direct to paper + bokeh piece.

The base is Sahara Sand, then Mossy Meadow then Naturals White. My wood panels are from the Adventure Bound DSP stack. I stamped over the bokeh piece with Mossy Meadow using the fern stamp from Butterfly Basics and the netting stamp is stamped all over that piece using Crumb Cake ink.

I have wanted to do Kraft butterflies ever since I got the Framelit set and here was my chance. I put a Mossy Meadow Butterfly underneath too for a bit of pop.

The rolled chrysalis type thing at the top was a bit of an accident. I tried to staple a piece of Mossy Meadow DSP to the top of the main panel and it just didn't look right so I rolled it and distressed it instead for a earthy texture piece.

No sentiment on this card....I couldn't make it work.

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

Card recipe

Stamp - Butterfly Basics
Ink - Pear Pizzazz, Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake, Whisper White

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #108 - Nuts About You

Calypso Coral #2

Hi

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop.

My card today uses the Color Coach colours of Calypso Coral, Chocolate Chip and Wild Wasabi.

When I re-examine this card, there are a couple of things missing that I would add:

1. A sentiment....I just couldn't make it work so I left it off.
2. Some sort of texturing or stamping on the middle Chocolate Chip band. I like the Wild Wasabi twine, but I think it needs something extra.

So....as I was writing this blog post, I LITERALLY got up and pulled the card apart and put it back together again with the aforementioned suggestions.

Here is Card B:

Which one do you like best? The minimalist part of me now likes the first one! **sigh**

Here is the sketch for this week's challenge:

Card recipe

Stamp - Nuts About You, Little Buddy Birthday (Card B)
Ink - Calypso Coral, Wild Wasabi Stampin Write Marker, Chocolate Chip Stampin Write Marker

Tools - Stampin' Trimmer, Multipurpose Glue, Circle Card Thinlits Die, Big Shot, Itty Bitty Punch Pack (flower), Word Window Punch (Card B), Neutrals Candy Dots, Glue Dots, Paper Snips, Painted Blossoms Cotton Twine

Stampin' Up! Australia - Amazing Birthday - Color Coach Card #107

Basic Gray #1

Hi

Welcome to this week's CASE-ing the Catty Blog Hop! Welcome from Rebecca Benson's blog.

This week the Blog Hop challenge is all about CASE-ing from the Memory Keeping pages of the Occasions catalogue.

CASE stands for Copy and Share Everything.  This whole blog hop is about using the current Stampin' Up! Catalogues to help you create.  Sometimes crafters need a springboard to just get started and the catalogues are certainly a demonstrator or customer's best resource.

Now you only have to look around my blog to see that I don't do very much of the scrapbooking/memory keeping side of paper craft, but that's cool...the Project Life stuff can be used on cards too. I made a card inspired by the Project Life page on pg 46. Here's my card..

Here's the original inspiration:

I used Color Coach Colors of Basic Gray, Melon Mambo and Old Olive. The colours work together well to produce a card fitting for a tween or teen I think.

My Basic Gray ink pad was not very inky and I need to purchase an ink refill so I decided to stamp my sentiment from Amazing Birthday with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The splotches are all from Gorgeous Grunge.

That's pretty much all there is to the card.

I finished off with some Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers and some Basic Gray Candy Dots

Stampin' Up! Australia - Create with Connie and Mary #352

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

My poor Four Feathers stamp set had been neglected for some time, so I thought that these challenge colours would look good as feathers or leaves.

Here are the colours for this week's challenge:

I also used the inspiration from CASE This Sketch and ShowCASe Your Style this week. This card is definitely my 'default' style. I like all the white space and even though I thought it would look great with some sponging, or a scatter of sequins or rhinestones....I just couldn't do it!! :) I often have to force myself to embellish. Part of me even thinks the Basic Gray sentiment panel is a bit too bold. ha!

Stampin' Up! Australia - Hooray It's Your Day - Color Coach Card #106

Whisper White #1

Hi

Today I'm sharing a couple of cards that I made for my son's friends who are twin girls and they recently celebrated their birthday.

I used the Hooray, It's Your Day Project Kit for these cards, changing the second one to suit the Color Coach colours of Whisper White, Blushing Bride and Rose Red. I used the balloon die cut from the kit but I flipped it over to use the plain white side. :)

I used these cute gift bags and gift tags for their presents. I always have a stash of these Tag a Bag Accessory Kit Gift Tags on standby, plus a pack of chevron gift bags. Aren't the clips cute!!

The best thing about this is that they are on the Stampin' Up! retirement list so they are going cheap today! :)

They are available as a bundle too! :)

I hope you like my cards. If you have been inspired by them and would like to support my creative business, all the supplies may be found by clicking through the links below which will take you to my store.
