Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up Pineapple

Hi!

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop and welcome from Alisa's blog.

I thought I would try out a technique that was shown to us at the recent Stampin’ Up! Onstage Live event (formerly known as ‘Convention’).

The technique is where you get a standard block image stamp...but use a marker to highlight parts of the stamp. On the Pineapple stamp below, I inked the leaves in Smoky Slate, but used the Basic Grey marker to highlight some of the shadowed parts. It came out quite well I thought! :)

The band of bling is from the Metallic Enamel Shapes pack...I used a combination of small circle and a star at each end. It reminds me of a brand of beer! :)

...and yes, there is a hint of a sneak peek of a new stamp, but that’s all I’m going to say about that. ;)

Here’s our theme for this week:

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Day of Gratitude - Thanksgiving card

Hi!

So we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia but I have a couple of American friends to whom I always send a Thanksgiving card. They are very special people and I appreciate their friendship so what better way to appreciate that than a handmade card! :)

The inspiration image at The Card Concept this week is a lovely Autumnal/Thanksgiving image.

Here’s my very clean & simple card..

I used a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp called “Day of Gratitude”. It has the most gorgeous medallion flower image and I love the greeting....and look at the script on the ‘G’!! *sigh*

I’m a typography nerd I know. :)

I hope you like my card! :)

I have closed my online store but I am still an active demonstrator so if you would like to place an order feel free to email me. :)

Cheers

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Star of Light Christmas Card

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept this week is a beautiful mint green typewriter with a spray of shabby chic flowers.

I am still stocking up my Christmas Card stash so I thought a soft pastel toned festive card would be lovely!

I used the new ‘Star of Light’ stamp set and found that there is a cool ‘two step’ stamp in it which looks like I have carefully shaded the snowflake image when in fact, it is just a perfectly layered second stamp!

I stamped the main image in Melon Mambo and the second layer in Flirty Flamingo.  It looks SO GOOD in real life! I might make more of these cards....I think this is my favourite Christmas card in my stash now!

Here’s the inspiration image:

I was also inspired by the sketch at CASE This Sketch this week.

I hope you like my card! :)

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Halloween Birthday card

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept's challenge this week is beautiful patterned pumpkin decoration - look at those cool chevrons!

I was inspired by the orange chevrons and the Halloween imagery. I know we don’t ‘do’ Halloween here in Australia, but our street and most of our suburb celebrate it and it is a lot of fun. Last year we got about 220 kids through the street - that’s a lot of sugar!! :)

I have a friend who recently celebrated a birthday - so this card is a belated greeting to her. She, like me, loves witches and the ‘stranger things’ so this little stamp is perfect!

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Watercolour Wishes Birthday Card

Hi!

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop and welcome from Tamsin’s blog.

Here are the essentials:

  • I used a fun cursive sentiment stamp from the Watercolour Wishes card kit.
  • Use up your scraps! This great sketch from CASE This Sketch really lends itself to a good rummage through the scraps folder. :)
  • Layer the pink. I layered a Flirty Flamingo layer onto the Blushing Bride card base since these two colours were part of the same spectrum.

Here are our colours for this week:

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Merry Medley

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept's challenge this week is a delicious assortment of fresh summer gelato flavours! mmmmm gelato! I recently returned from a week’s holiday at Coolum Beach and was lucky enough to partake in Gelato Mio’s offerings daily!

I was inspired by the colours and thought it would be fun to make a start on my Christmas cards but use a non-traditional colour scheme.

I used Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum inks in an ombre design on the Merry Medley background stamp.

What do you think?

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Number of Years

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept's challenge this week is all about citrus colour!!

I was trying to channel some sort of graphic card that featured fun colourful circles but it wasn’t working so I looked to the ‘Number of Years’ stamp and decided to be guided by the bright colours for inspiration.

I thought it would be fun to make a teenage girl card.....keep it fresh and simple.

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Pineapple Stamp Set

Hi!

The inspiration image at The Card Concept's challenge this week is a colourful array of wall pots...in all the rainbow colours. :)

I have a few new stamps - yay! I thought I would break out the Pineapple stamp for this card. I wanted to get a painted look on the Pineapple stamp so I got the large brushstroke stamp from the Work of Art stamp set and stamped straight onto the Pineapple stamp with each colour.

The colours from base to crown are:

Flirty Flamingo*
Sweet Sugarplum*
Dapper Denim*
Cucumber Crush
Delightful Dijon
Peekaboo Peach*
Watermelon Wonder

*denotes NEW 2016-2018 In Color

This is a card for yet another ex-work-colleague who is moving to southern pastures, so I heat embossed the ‘congrats’ greeting from the Tin of Cards stamp set and embellished the card with some White Accents.

Here’s the inspiration image:

I hope you like my card! :)

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Fairy Celebration

Hi!

Welcome to this week's Artful Stampers Blog Hop and welcome from Nicole’s blog.

I made this card for little girl in my son’s class. He attended her 6th birthday today and I thought she might like this card. :)

I used the technique for this week - the Faux Wax Seal - on the envelope. I stamped the little fairy image into the molten copper embossing powder and it left a cool effect! Shelli Gardner does a great little tutorial on this on her blog here

The seal looks nicer in real life. It kinda looks like a brown blob in my photo but actually it is very shiny and pretty. My advice is to keep the embossing powder nice and thick - you want that displaced look around the edges for an authentic wax seal look.

I took the colouring cues for the fairy image from the colours featured in the Affectionately Yours DSP. They work beautifully I think. I also put some sparkly Wink of Stella on her wings, the flowers and the toadstool. :)

Blame me for the weird colours and the ‘throwback’ sketch! I haven’t done a blog hop in a while so as ‘punishment’ (LOL) it fell to me to suggest the challenge. :)

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Bokeh wedding card

Hi

Just a quick post from me, since I’ve been quiet of late. SO busy working full-time now, but I managed to steal an afternoon today to do some crafting. :)

Some bokeh technique here, plus some use of scraps that I had in a folder....some paper flowers and a punched piece of gold foil cardstock. I thought it looked good on the bokeh background with the wooden sentiment piece. I painted the wooden sentiment with clear ‘Wink of Stella’ to make it shimmery. :)

Cheers

Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Pineapple Birthday Card

Hi!

I used the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch and flipped it. :)

I hope you like my card! :)

I have closed my online store but I am still an active demonstrator so if you would like to place an order feel free to email me. :
