Stampin’ Up! Australia - Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Ride

Hi

Welcome to this week's Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.

I just can’t put this stamp away....it’s adorable!

The stamp is “Beautiful Ride” from the new Occasions Catalogue. I stamped it in Black Stazon and watercoloured it in Pear Pizzazz. The brown tones are where the Pear Pizzazz ink ‘splits’....it looks great! The windows were watercoloured in a light wash of Bermuda Bay and the tyres lightly in Basic Black.

The background DSP is also NEW! It is from the “Shine On" Designer Series Paper Pack. One side is Kraft plus coloured patterns and the other side is Kraft + Metallics patterns. It is fantastic!

I matted this on some Blackberry Bliss card stock and mounted it onto a Kraft card stock base.

The garden was created using Fringed Scissors and Pear Pizzazz card stock (grass) and Blackberry Bliss CS punched with a small flower punch (I used the retired Itty Bitty Punches, but the Itty Bitty Accents pack has a cute flower in it too!).

I added a border of Bermuda Bay sequins on the bottom of the watercolour panel and just for fun I stapled some Blackberry Bliss striped cotton ribbon onto the panel also.

As you can see, this card has a tonne of elements and isn’t really my usual style, but I had so much fun making it. :)

The envelope? I made this with my Envelope Punch Board and the new Neutrals Envelope Paper - there are Crumb Cake pages and they are perfect to pair with a Kraft based card. I stamped the VW Beetle onto the envelope in Blackberry Bliss.

Here are our colours for the challenge this week :)

  1. This is SO fun! I always wanted a green "bug"! I need to look closer at that Shine On DSP, too! I didn't even realize it had colored pieces, too! Great job with the sketch this week!

  7. This is super-duper cute! I love the green car! Fabulous accents, as well....my favorite is the little bit of sequin trim peeking out from underneath the horizontal panel!

  8. What a fun teenybopper card! Very cute! I did some watercoloring with my Pear Pizazz recently and got some brown areas like you have on your VW...did you do that on purpose? Or was it your pad? I was thinking my pad had issues, so just asking! It looks great! Like a little dust on the fenders...perfect! I'm just validating my pad's issues.

    1. Hi Lisa. I think it is just the chemical composition of the ink colour that splits like that when you add water. When I did a heap of bokeh cards, I found when I was doing my backgrounds that each ink colour behaves a slightly different way when you add water and mess around with them....it is quite interesting to see the other colours that go into the one ink pad colour. :)
