Stampin' Up! Australia - The Artful Stampers Blog Hop - Sketch Challenge #4 - Cheerful Nordic Christmas

Hi

When Alisa posted this sketch for our team Blog Hop this week, I almost passed out from anxiety looking at all those layers!

Putting this card together really did my head in....I actually had a different card in progress but it was looking way too cluttered so I ditched it and allowed this one to come together for me.

I really wanted to use the Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper so I used that for my base square panel....it is SO beautiful and crisp looking. I am enjoying Garden Green against Whisper White at the moment.

I used two stamp sets...the snowflake is from Cheerful Christmas and the sentiment is from Bright & Beautiful. The snowflake is stamped in Soft Sky since the Garden Green sentiment would stand out over the top of it.

See the little wooden Christmas Tree!? That's from the brand new Hello December Project Life Accessory Pack. I got this accessory pack solely for the wooden embellishments...they are just darling!!

I finished off the sketch with some strategically placed rhinestone jewels. :)

Hope you like my card. Click on any of the images below to be taken to my online store to purchase.

Annette Sullivan is the next destination on the blog hop....go see what she has done with the sketch....I bet it is amazing!

Here's a list of the participants if you get lost along the way:

Stampin' Up! Australia - CASEing The Catty - Stampin' Up! Nordic Noel Santa

Hi

At CASE-ing the Catty this week, we are exploring the various Christmas Cards of the new Holiday Catalogue.

CASE - The acronym stands for COPY AND SHARE EVERYTHING. The latest Stampin' Up! ® Catalogue certainly encourages crafters to do just that as it is jam packed with amazing, inspirational projects.

The idea is to feature a section of the Stampin' Up! ® catalogue each week using the projects in the catty as inspiration.

You can directly CASE (Copy and Share Everything) or use a sketch/layout, colour combo, embellishment, just to name a few examples, as a springboard for your own creations.

Here's a Badge to paste to your blog:

Guidelines

  •   Create a new project for the current challenge (no back linking)
  • Mention CTC Challenges in your blog post and link back to the challenge blog so others can join in on the fun.
    • Let us know what project you CASED and make reference to the page of your country's catalogue where you got your inspiration.
    • Only Stampin' Up! products (retired or current) may be used in your projects for CTC Challenges.
    So let's go!

I decided to CASE the "Get Your Santa On" card on on page 30 of the Holiday Catalogue.

    Here's what I made:

    Isn't he cute!!!?

Rather than a Sahara Sand base layer I layered my card onto Whisper White with a mat of Garden Green. The DSP is from Nordic Noel - a fun patterned paper pack from the 2014 Holiday Catalogue. The Nordic Designer button and Real Red Satin Woven Ribbon are also from the Holiday Catalogue.

I rounded the top left and right corners of my DSP and Santa layer with the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch

Santa from "Get Your Santa On" is coloured with Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities, Smoky Slate Blendabilities and the Skin Tone Assortment Blendabilities. I coloured his cheeks with the 'Naturals' marker and his face with the 'Nude' marker.

You can't see it in the photo, but I put some Dazzling Details sparkle on the pom-pom on his hat for some added bling. :)

I hope you like my card, and please play with us at CASEing the Catty.....get ahead on those Christmas Cards! :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Boys Will Be Boys Robot Birthday!

    Hi

It's been a while since I played in a Pals Paper Arts Challenge and when I saw Shannon Jaramillo's perfect CAS card during the week, her design inspired me to play along.

My friend's son has a birthday coming up soon and so I thought he may like the robot stamp from the 'Boys Will Be Boys' stamp set.

As an aside, I do think that Stampin' Up! could have thought of a different name for this stamp set...in the interests of promoting gender equality and gender-neutral toys for kids.....I mean girls like robots too, girls like lego and building blocks and yo-yos....and I'm sure girls play with parachute soldiers too! "Kids Playground" would have been a better name. :) Okay...off my feminist soapbox.

    Here's my card:

    Hope you like it!
