Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! See Ya Later - Cat in the Hat card

Hi

It isn't every day that some asks for a 'Cat in the Hat' wedding card.....but when they do, it is great to be challenged and think about what would work on such a card.

Fortunately I have hoarded tonnes of 'Big Top Birthday' DSP so I had the red stripes and turquoise to work with.

The couple in question are having a 'Cat in the Hat' wedding and therefore aren't traditional people and I know the bride and she is pretty alternative and cool.....

Rather than go with a strict reference to the book, I used the colour scheme to inspire me and threw in the black 'drawn' flower stamp from Hearts A Flutter to echo the illustrations in the book. I used black  for matting to enhance the cartoon-like feel.

The Essentials Wooden Embellishments seem to work with all my experimentation, and they create a trendy feel so I left them on there. I used some Delicate Details Lace Tape  for a touch of elegance among the "zany".

I also stamped my envelope with some hearts.

I used this week's sketch from Deconstructed Sketches to help me balance a busy card.

As I said before, the Big Top Birthday DSP is retired, but everything stays current in My Digital Studio, so you can download it here and print out the pages that you need. EASY!

Since this card has about 12 layers (a new record for me I think!), I have linked it to the Just Add Ink challenge this week which is Just Add Layers! :)

Hope you like my card (...and I hope the bride likes it too!).

Cheers
Alison xx
