Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #36 - Blossom Party Die

Pacific Point #1

Hi

When I saw this sketch at Less is More, my mind immediately jumped to a creating a layered graphic flower.

This card is a Color Coach Journey card and it uses Pacific Point, Melon Mambo and Pumpkin Pie.

I know I have skipped Tempting Turquoise and Soft Sky but I will blog that one soon. :)

I used the Blossom Party Die to make two layers of my flower and one of the Floral Framelits for the base.

I used one of the Circle Framelits to make my aperture layer....this layer was elevated by some Stampin Dimensionals as is the flower itself. Some metal flower brads & candy dots finished the card.

I quite like this, it reminds me of the patterns from the dresses that I wore as a girl in the 70's. :)

The Blossom Party Originals Die is a current die and you it is still available for purchase this through me.

Hope you like my card! :)

Materials used:

Stamps - none
Ink - none
Cardstock - Whisper White (textured), Pacific Point, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo
Tools - Big Shot, Circle Framelits, Floral Frames Framelits, Blossom Party Originals Die, Paper Piercer
Accessories - Flower brads (retired), Brights Candy Dots

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #35 - Fusion! Chevrons! Thinlits!

Tempting Turquoise #2

Hi

Fusion have an awesome inspiration/sketch combo happening this week. CHEVRONS!

My card is another step along my Color Coach Journey and it uses Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie....in a bit of an unusual way....

One of my fellow Elite Stampers team members shared this video on Facebook the other day....it uses a couple of techniques combined.....stamping with an embossing folder and misting inks prior to stamping.

The video is from Audrie Magno-Gordon....she is so clever!

So....I decided to use chevrons in my main panel.....I sponged Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry and Pumpkin Pie onto my chevron embossing folder and then sprayed a mist of water over it. I pressed my watercolour paper onto the embossing folder and just as Audrie said, the colours run together beautifully and you get a gorgeous 'arty' image.

In hindsight, I would have made the turquoise border a lot thinner....I think it competes with the chevron piece too much.

Anyway....I did a couple of others so maybe I will play with those and make some different cards. :)

Hope you like my card!

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Best of Babies - Farewell Dynamic Duos!

Hi

Today I am submitting a card for a couple of challenges....the Deconstructed Sketch, who have a very cool square card sketch this week, and Dynamic Duos, who have announced their farewell.

So sad to see them go, but I reflected on all the 47 cards that I have made for Dynamic Duos, both as a participant and a Design Team member, and I am happy to say that it has brought out the best in my card making and challenged me to design with some cool colour combos.  Thank you Lesley & Anne Marie for your inspiration and professionalism. xxx

.....in saying that....I have only just realised that I have the colours for this challenge ALL WRONG!! Eeeeeeek!
When I looked at the colours on my iPad, I could have sworn that it said So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding and Smoky Slate...when in fact it should be Pool Party. **sob**

Anyway...I'm submitting my card....I know that it will be excluded from consideration....but since it is the last challenge and I REALLY wanted to participate, the card is going in! I hope the DT understand. :)

I have been itching to break out my Best of Babies stamp set....it is completely adorable....I water coloured the bears in Crumb Cake for the fur and Smoky Slate for their foot pads, the toys were a combo of So Saffron and Pistachio Pudding.

This isn't my usual style of card...there is a lot of layers and not much white space...but sometimes I think that baby cards need a bit of warmth and 'cosy-ness' on them. :)

So I hope my boo-boo is forgiven.....

Farewell Dynamic Duos....it's been dynamic and fabulous! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - Rich Razzleberry Happy Day!

Hi

Just a quick blog post to share this card with you. I have managed to squeeze it in just in time for the Dynamic Duos challenge this week.

It is inspired by an ombre card that Catherine shared on StampNation this week. I don't have the stencils that she used, but I thought I would play with some Stampin' Sponges over a Mosaic embossed layer and get a similar effect.

I splattered Gold Smooch Spritz over the top of my Rich Razzleberry sponging....it looks VERY GOOD in real life. :)

Hope you like my card! :)

Remember that you can place an order with me any time at my online store!

If you would like a free catalogue mailed direct to you (Australian residents only), then just drop me an email with your details and I'll get one to you! :)

Use up your DSP scraps!

Hi

The countdown is beginning for the new Stampin' Up! 2014-2015 Annual catalogue, so I have been thinking up new ways of using some of my stash.

I gather I am not the only person to have a stack of patterned paper from pre-SU days....I just can't seem to part with it as I am a craft-supplies-hoarder.....don't judge me! :)

Anyway...here's a couple of cards that are guaranteed to inspire you to use up some itty bitty scrap pieces.

This one was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch (which I am too late to link to sadly)...

It uses little scraps of old patterned paper pieces + some scraps of Melon Mambo, a number '10' that I had previously die cut and discarded, and a Petite Petals flower that I found on my desk. :)

My next card was inspired by the sketch at Clean & Simple Stamping this week. Rather than stamp the horizontal lines, I thought I would use a strip of 12' patterned paper, cut into 3 pieces (4 inches per piece). I thought it was such an effective way to use up old scrappy paper. :)

So, my challenge to you is this....to make room for all the cool stuff from the next catalogue....get in there and USE UP your patterned paper. You will thank me for it. :)

Make sure you subscribe to my newsletter (see my side bar) to get the skinny on the upcoming catalogue.

Just email me if you would like to go on my mailing list for your FREE copy. :)

Stampin' Up! Australia - Stampin' Up! Flower Shop - Just Add Ink! Color Coach Card #34

Tempting Turquoise #1

Hi

What a groovy little sketch the guys at Just Add Ink have this week!

This card is a Color Coach Journey card using Tempting Turquoise, Real Red and Tangerine Tango....which is a bit of a weird combo but nice and bright against a backdrop of white. :)

I don't often do 'get well' cards, but I wanted something to go with the cheery 'drawn' flower and the wavy real red DSP. I saw this sentiment in Sassy Salutations and thought it would be cool. :)

The sentiment is heat embossed with Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder.

Don't forget to visit my online store if you need anything! :)
