Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #32 - Stampin' Up! Secret Garden

Night of Navy Card #2

Hi again

Ever since I saw the fabulous technique video from Chupa at StampNation showing how to do a stained glass technique on dark card stock, I have been dying to give it a go!!

When the Color Coach threw Night of Navy, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight at me, I thought I would try it using the Stampin' Up! Secret Garden stamp set.

I have some vintage Stampin' Up! watercolour pencils and the green in it looked very olive, but once I put it on paper, it came up quite bright.

I stamped some more images from Secret Garden to layer my main flower on. The dot features on the Daffodil Delight flowers are actually tiny squares of washi tape from the Watercolor Wonder Washi Tape set.

My layout is inspired by the sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch this week.....so CAS & fabulous!! :)

I'm going to give this card to a colleague at work that is going through some stuff right now....she loves getting handmade cards so I know this will make her day!! :)

Hope you like my card!

Cheers
Alison xx

Stampin' Up! Australia - Color Coach Card #31 - Sale-A-Bration See Ya Later!!

Night of Navy Card #1

Hi

I had been musing over this colour coach combination for a while...the colours of Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie require careful use of 3 bold colours.

I went to the California Design exhibition at the Queensland Art Gallery yesterday and some of the modern (well they were modern in the 1950's!) designs used bold colour so effortlessly. I took heaps of photos which I will probably share here on my blog in another post, as I'm sure other card artists and designers would draw inspiration and find them interesting. :)

I found this fantastic sketch at StampNation and thought it was perfect to showcase 3 retro stripes down the side.

The new Sale-A-Bration set "See Ya Later" sits brilliantly in the Banner Framelit Die for a trendy sentiment panel. Candy Dots complete the 'retro' feel....they are a great way to add interest to a masculine card. :)

Hope you like it! Remember you can get this stamp for free when you order $90 of product! Place your order now! :)

Cheers

Stampin' Up! Australia - This is why MDS is cool.....

Hi

This is why MDS is the coolest thing ever....

A friend of mine at work wanted a wedding card for her friends. She said that they were a pretty non-traditional couple so a card with doves & bells probably wouldn't cut it. I told her I knew exactly what to do!!

Stampin' Up! offer this fantastic digital download called 'You & Me'....it features customisable subway font images that you can swap in and out of your card front. I removed the "You & Me" line and put the name of the couple in.

So that I didn't waste paper I made three Valentine cards like the one below and put the 'You & Me' line back in. :)

Super cool hey!?

I stamped my envelopes with the Hearts A Flutter stamp set in Blushing Bride and Basic Grey to match the colours of my card.

Suffice to say, my friend squealed when she saw her card. :)

Cheers
